It's odd,the page produces the band list header and the purple background then just "hangs".Bearing in mind I have a 10 meg connection its not a loading issue. I'm wondering if IE7 is trying to validate every link on the page as part of its in-built "anti-phishing" defences...

That's exactly what it did when I first posted on this issue..........but now (touch wood) it's been ok for days...........

I haven't noticed any problems from home lately. It's slow at work but that's probably down to our rubbish company Internet connection which we've proven to be slower than a dial-up connection.

I live in South West Wales, and have a Broadband Internet connection at home , ISP is BT Broadband, It is sometimes slow with me as well, not always, others wise and most of the time very good speed connection.

It's sometimes slow in College as well, but now seems to be good.

I reckon a lot of broadband users use the net the same time and this I believe slows it down.Confused

It seems to have just been UK members who had the problems over the last couple of days.

Oh, btw Tony, NTL have a web site that shows the status of any current service problems. I don't have the URL here but if you want it, pm me and I'll send it to you when I get home.

I find customer services much improved these days, no longer the 30 min wait. Yesterday, after the press this button if you want to stuff, I got through instantly!

Yes-to a call centre in India.
Try getting an answer to a specific question!

Me:"Hi.I'd just like to know if there any problems affecting the connection in the Bolton area"
NTL:" what operating system are you using?"

10 mins later
Me:" Please I just want to know if there any problems affecting...etc......

Let's face it, noone in India would know where Bolton was, I'm not sure myself.
NTL technical services aren't too bad, they sorted out my connection problems on my new PC (mind you, they were caused by their installation program not working on XP in the first place). The only problem is they have to assume everyone is a technical idiot so they tell you things like "click on Start and Run then type C for Charlie, M for Mother and D for Dog".

Which ISP are you using Tony?  I find Tiscali very hit and miss.  They did some maintenance the other week and posted it on the Tiscali website.  My whole Internet went down and I was lucky enough to be able to get online for about 10 minutes to check the Tiscali website.  Then it died again.  But I had to change my DNS settings again, it's very frustrating!

Tony, you seem to be playing similar stuff to Jody!

I had the same issues as well.  Index page loaded fine, but The Velvet Room was very slow loading!

It's all good again now, I'm happy!  I have enough problems anyhow (which are ISP related) whereby when I click to post my message, it comes to a complete halt...

M@x has checked things out, and says no problems at his end.

I wonder if it was some sort of transatlantic issue.Confused
