I noticed the stars briefly reappeared under albums two days ago (on the Cluster page) and then disappeared just as quickly. My member profile page still freezes and even disrupts my browser when I try to access it, and it also no longer shows the stars to the left of the albums.

Also getting the same problem. In roughly 2020/21 personal ratings disappeared from the 'Top Prog Albums' filterable searches, which stopped you easily being able to see what highly rated (or otherwise) albums you might have missed from a year / genre. Now they've gone from artist pages so its harder to see if you've missed an album from a specific artist too... not good!

Definitely Can't see them, which makes rating albums a PAIN! I have to write a short review and then put the star rating in that way. I don't bother with the 100 word thing (though maybe I should). Definitely won't work on Google/Chrome. On Band Page OR Album Page
(Also, where did that 'Most Popular Artists' go on the Home Page?) Edited by Frets N Worries - November 25 2023 at 19:49 |

I don't see the stars in any browser on any PC/mobile for about a week now.
I'm only able to access my ratings with the 'edit your old reviews & ratings' option.
Is it possible this issue is linked to my account instead of the browser? |

I am using Firefox and do, indeed, see the star ratings when I look at one specific album. I don't see them on the band page beneath each of the band's albums. I checked the page source for a random album (https://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=51106), and it highlights a number of coding errors, like object terminators (e.g. </li> that don't correspond to anything, nested comments (which are not allowed), stray ending tags, extra unnecessary characters, etc. The same is true on the main band page, and the PA home page. I suspect that recent changes are responsible for these coding errors, and that some browsers overlook them, while others fail. I didn't see any errors specifically regarding the star ratings, however. But that's how coding is, sometimes... an error in one place can manifest itself as weird behavior elsewhere.

On my PC, I notice browsers google, opera, microsoft edge, brave, duck duck go NOT SHOWING star ratings under albums on band pages. However, on my PC, Safari and Firefox ARE SHOWING the star ratings. On my iphone, all browsers (edge, firefox, google, safari) SHOW the star ratings for albums on band pages. I like to use Google on PC the most - is there a way to remedy this? thanks, Reynolds Edited by Reynolds - November 19 2023 at 14:18 |
