The Area debut is a bit boring. First track is cool though

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

They’re the best I’ve heard from all those Italian albums. Apoteosi is excellent |

I have heard it before, but don’t have Nuova Era in my collection. The others I do and have played many times over the years. I’d say that my favourite band in the list is Area, but like Tapfret, I prefer CRA and Crac! to it. Unlike him, that BdSM album is my favourite from that band. A strong list. I should check out NE again. I voted for Alphatuarus.

Tricky - Tilt and Arbeit Macht Frei are equally fantastic and incomparable. It's between those two but I love Banco's debut and Contrappunti too.

Hate to go with the majority but Arbeit Macht Frei is just that good. I did give a strong few seconds of thought to Banco's debut though. They really had an edge on that album.

Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

I'll always remember asking this older Italian man what the lyrics were on one of the tracks and he takes a while looking at it before saying it's about a big storm, a big storm is coming. That was so cool. Oh I used to have a shop and always had my music on to some's displeasure and to others being curious. |

Not a bad album in this group. Banco is my favorite RPI band, but the self-titled isn't my favorite of their releases. Area is smokin', but I would take Caution: RA or Crac! before AMF. Contrapunti is a waaaay underappreciated Le Orme album.
I will pick Alphataurus since when someone mentions RPI the first sound that I hear in my head is that Moog glissando leading into the acoustic guitar on the opening track.
