One of the very best groups, and live they were tremendous, with Micky Jones and Deke Leonard leading the improvised jams.

Deke Leonard's 3 books are essential reading too to understand the band. He is a real wit. Just finished his latest volume maximum darkness, not as good as first two, but still a hilarious read, though very poignant at the end describing the passing of Micky Jones.
 
I remember playing a very small part (in fact so small that no-one took any frigging notice of me) of getting Man into this hallowed site. 
 
There are 2 man band variants around to this day. Man led by the supreme lunatic himself Martin Ace who tour Germany mostly, and Son of Man, led by George Jones, Mickey's son, who still tour every now and then.
 
Treasure the times I saw them live (the ones i was sober enough to recall Wacko)

Good band, I have 4 albums all are good but nothing is really mindblowing.
I guess my favourite album is Do You Like It Here Now, Are You Settling In? favourite song All Good Clean Fun, probably their strangest song ever, I wish they've done more like this.

Man are another band ive seen more times than i can remember, from major venues to village halls and fields on the back of a flat-bed truck; its their flexibility from straight ahead rock n roll to long, fairly complex, extended jams on studio songs. Frank Zappa said that Micky Jones was one of the best guitarists he'd ever heard.. C'mon is just fantastic (as is the whole 'be good to yourself' lp) and the live jams and cracjking studio material on 'Back into the future' and the maximum darkness live lp with Quicksilvers John Cippolina doing Deke Leonards 7171-551 (there is a cracking version on youtube with Micky Jones just doing the most mental psych-out guitar solo on that same track). 'Rhinos..' has some great moments (Kerosene and scotch corner) and they definately put Wales on the map (they were/ are the premier 'Welsh west coast' band) long before Manic Street Preachers started draping welsh flags over their backline! Offshoots include the fantastic 'Neutrons' (check out their lp 'black hole star') and 'Help yourself' lps.

I've got 4 studio album of theirs (from Be Good to Slow Motion) plus the keep on crinting box set.
I like them all. Some of the tracks are terrific.

Back into the Future is a must have and a Good starting point for it features both studio and Live numbers. It's their Ummagumma.

They did some nice albums from 71-76......I think I'll pull out Welsh Connection and play it....been a long time.

The reformation produced some great gigs but the studio albums were never as good though they had their moments.

I think their first 8 or 9 albums are all interesting though I like this one perhaps the best...

I don't have all their albums and I got to admit they have a lot of shady spots in their collection, but none the less they are a great band.
