I've been really enjoying Biophilia as of late, and some of The Sugarcubes. The former doesn't seem to get much notice here. The chaotic electronics at the end of 'Crystalline' just give the song a great surprising ending.

\Now then - big Sugarcubes fan - got most of their material in every format - started with Deus and grew from there and to be honest I think her solo career is not a jot on the cubes
Strip it down to the music - forget the video glamour etc and the Sugarcubes did some good stuff , the last album especially had many good item - Hetero scum / Hit etc 
I think they should reform

Hard question, i like most of her work... "Debut" is probably my favorite, including singles, specially the "Atlantic" song. What a sweety girl she was (still)!



"Vespertine" is excellent too, Cocoon... Pagan Poetry, so sentimental.

Debut, Post, Homogenic, and Vespertine.....all outstanding albums.  Haven't ventured much else beyond these and there just aren't enough days of the week (and enough dosh in the wallet) to go too much further.  I put one of these LPs on once every couple of months to get my Bjork fix....always a gas.
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....

Vespertine is an absolutely mindblowing release; nothing sounds like this album. Avantgarde and incredible beautiful at the same time. Unique.

Glad I saw this, because I always enjoy Bjork's music when I listen to it but haven't bought anything of hers in about a decade.  Have to catch up...

But, of the older stuff, my favorite song is "Hyperballad."  I can just picture Bjork standing at the edge of a cliff throwing spoons and tin cans down, down, down.

Her SNL episode was pretty funny.

Pretty much this except that I do have Selmasongs. I'm a huge fan of Vespertine. 
Medulla on the other hand is an album I totally respect but can't get through the entire thing in one go due to all the oddball vocalizations. 
Her newest album is actually pretty damn sweet as well...similar in certain aspects to Vespertine but kinda depressing.

And one more thing... to me the Sugarcubes were one of the biggest lost opportunities in pop history. Brilliant songwriting and melodies, but ruined by the worst male singer I've ever heard; I just cannot stand that guy. If only they had let Bjork do everything.

Loved all her work up to Homogenic. Vespertine was where she showed signs of coming apart, and after that I find all her stuff unlistenable. (YMMV of course...)

Also, way too few people who call themselves Bjork fans own Gling-Glo...

I like "Birthday" from the Sugarcubes, Bjork's first three solo albums, "Play Dead" and in my top 10 of songs of any artist anytime I have "Visur Vatnsenda Rosu" from Hector Zazou, with her voice and no doubt her lyrics.
I admire her a lot, but from Vespertine or Medulla on I lost a bit interest.

Thanks. I'll probably have a browse and buy the cheapest album available of those. I am quite interested but up to now just never dipped my toes.
