So am I. Squarepusher sounds epic from the one album Alex showed me.

I sympathize with that, but if you don't like those two, what Nu Jazz do you like.

My problem with Evan Parker is that he has about a billion solo saxophone recordings, and those are always the ones that AMG thinks are the best, when his best work is usually with somebody else and that's not always on the AMG entry since he may not be leader. i.e. Machine Gun.

A real conversation:

Me: So James listened to Mastodon and Meshuggah.
Alex: Wow
Me: Is it the apocalypse?
Alex: Not sure
Me: Nah. Not really.
Me: When he listens to Pure Reason Revolution and talks about how musically insightful they are, then it's the apocalypse.

Are you complaining about him listening to Meshuggah? Or just surprised?

Surprised. Although hopefully he enjoys it to some degree.

Fair enough, but I don't even know most of the people on the Nu Jazz Wiki page (and the ones I do I don't know for playing Nu Jazz). I remember liking Spring Heel Jack's live album, but it has Evan Parker, William Parker, and Han Bennick, so it's hardly fair to compare it to Jaga Jazzist or Squarepusher or whatever. I never got into Matthew Shipp, though.

Jaga Jazzist is not very good and squarepusher is god awful. I need to check out some Evan Parker, I also need to check out some of the classics that I haven't got around to.

So Matt, what games are so fabulous on the Wii?
-The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
-Super Mario Galaxy
-Super Smash Bros. Brawl
-Mario Kart Wii
-A Boy and His Blob
-Little King's Story
-Sakura Wars
-Metroid Prime 3 (haven't played it, but it gets great reviews, so you would probably like it if you like Shooters.)

So the Wii doesn't have any good games, huh?

Those are all good games. And I'm really looking forward to the new Metroid. Looks like Ninja Gaiden on steroids.

A lot of the Jazz I listen to is of the Brit variety, much of it is from the F-ire collective.
There are only two bands I know from there, although I was intrigued by Ingrid Laubrock, as she is a female, but she turned out to just be a lame Evan Parker devotee. I'm sorry, but jazz is just another one of the things that America is the best at, although there is some good music on the EFI scene.

I agree with that bit, but it was the so called Nu Jazz (terrible term)  scene that got me into exploring jazz in general.
