I'm envious of these collections. I only have like 90 CDs and a bunch of vinyls (30 i think) that I got for free. Mostly just random rock ones and some Rush and one Camel one.

Here's our wall of sound. Missing are six big piles of new purchases that are still lying in front of me on the computer table.

I don't know how's the situation there in Europe (or in your country, Sweden, am I right?), but here in Argentina is much easier and cheaper to get (when we're talking about ol' school prog rock, or 70's music in general) vinyls instead of CDs. That's because many vinyls were released in my country during that time, and nowadays you can get those at even two or three dollars. Sadly, many of those albums which are available on vynil, weren't released in my country on CD, so as you can imagine the majority of the CDs of the music we listen here (in this site) are imported, and it's usual to see some CDs at 30 or 50 dollars! Unfortunately, I don't have the vinyl player my dad used to have, but he still has his vinyl collection (with lots of Genesis!), though they aren't played since the end of the 90s.

So, what's the situation right there? Is it the exact opposite? Are vinyls considered as "gems"?

Now they just have cassettes with crappy unknown 90's bands, still shrinkwrapped. They've been there for years. Wacko

What the hell are cassettes? LOL
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

never cared for cassettes. I think I played my "Hemispheres" cassette once in my old car before I gave it a cd-player, that's about it

Cassettes can be really cheap (£0,01 to £3) on Amazon. The problem is that the shipping is ridiculously high! Disapprove

I have some headbangers, some classic rock but a lot of prog. Nothing wrong with non-prog though! Especially nothing wrong with headbanging

I'll have to count my vinyls too.  I belonged to the BMG Record club and Columbia House for quite a while where I was buying records before I switched to cassettes and finally to CDs.  I probably have around 100, but very few are prog.  Most of my vinyls were from my headbanging days.

I've been thinking of starting a collection of it several times. But i'm busy enough collecting CD's, DVD's and Vinyls!

I have some boxes of copied VHS pornos on VHS that I'd just about be willing to ship to anyone of age and pay the shipping costs for.  LOL

I "inherited" them from my brother in law.

My own personal collection of VHS stuff, mostly taped off TV, but some store bought originals is disintegrating.  I can no longer play my cassettes on any device capable of recovering the material to CD.  I can't play my LP's on any set up I have anymore.  Granted, they are the most durable of the formats...

So what's the shipping to sweden ehh... Gadda da vida from... Where do you live? LOL

I'll see what I can do.  It'll probably take about 5 or 6 pictures since they are in so many different locations throughout my house.
