Well he did get a lot better a few years ago, after someone finally had the inspiring idea that giving him 40 different types of medication per day could part of making him worse instead of better. He's might be as indestructabl as Richards, but in the end they'll both turn out to be mortal beings.

Such dreadful news. He always seemed to positive, very up beat.

There's been a lot of vulnerability in the public world. Mick Jagger's girlfriend committed suicide, Brad Delp and Robin Williams two more who should still be with us.

Must appreciate what we have, now, for tomorrow may very well be too late. (I probably accidentally nicked that from someone). Let me know...

Keith Emerson - there's a lot in that name. R.I.P.

Dreadful tragedy. He was one of my heroes, and a musical hero for so many people here as well.

Recently started to go through the back catalogue of ELP's work as I had not visited any of their old albums for many years. This was prompted by a thread on these boards recently.
What I remember from my teenage years and what I am discovering now has made me change my mind about the band considerably over the last 2-3 weeks alone. They were indeed one of the masters of Prog and very playful over what they did. It's this playfulness I had missed when I first heard their albums many years back.
Keith Emerson's contribution was massive to the sound and it's with his keyboard playing that I am becoming taken back by.
Just woke up to the news. Must admit to being still in shock here at the loss. Very sad indeed another founding father of the music we love has passed on.
Really sad,I'll miss you lots.Cry

Hey we like Ozzy too.  He won't be around that much longer, and when he goes his contributions will be praised, as they should be.  He was one of the handful of guys who invented heavy metal.

What incredibly sad news to wake up to. That band in heaven is growing, very sadly for those of us left behind here.

This is sad Cry

Luckly science is closer and closer to make people live longer and keep their youth, its working in mice already, the bad news is that it will not be available 'till a couple of decades in the future, so we gonna lose a few more legends for now Disapprove.

ClapCry He was the best prog musician Ive ever heard in my life , I don't think I`m alone feeling that way about him .. I`m devastated by this news .. may not eat  today don't think I can.  So soon after Chris Squire my favorite bass player ever. Still cant imagine Keith Emerson gone or a world without his playing ... through your music Keith I learned to love you, now your music is all that remains,  I still feel I can visit you in a sense through your works,  its moments like these we find out how deep music really is.

Another great loss for rock music, and specifically for progressive music. One of the true heroes of the keyboards. May the Lord of all creation grant him peace.

Someone better make sure he's noted at next year's Grammys.
