I thought this thread was about favorite band (singular) so ok to list 2 or 3 as tastes change over timebut 40 to 50 "favorite" bands? That's just nuts guys.

I never never never ever ever Repeat never never ever ever seen Céline monkeyface. But I have seen some of my favourite bands that appear here on PA. Don't ask me the dates
 
Rush 5 or 6 times

Crimson 6 times ( one was a two show night in '84 on the TOAPP tour that was made into the CD Absent Lovers much later )

Pink Floyd Pulse in Edmonton Canada in Commonwealth Stadium

Genesis in 2007 in the Big O in Montréal audio and video ( from  the screen ) were not synced so it pretty much sucked. Got in free with a friend who had tickets he won which is the only reason I went .

Marillion. Once at the spectrum in Montréal. Part of that show appears on Real to Reel

Larry Coryell 3 times. Once time we were pretty sure he was wired on coke because when he talked to the audience he could have been talking in Klingon for all I could understand. Playing was beyond excellent ( he was opening for Jean Luc Ponty at Théatre St. Denis and later joined Jean Luc Ponty for the encore which was Egocentric Molecules.

John McLaughlin at the Montréal International Jazz Festival. He mostly played stuff from the Mahavishnu.album ( the black one from the early 80s ) That synth axe he played for most of the show annoyed just about everyone in the audience including yours truly. When he picked up a black Gibson Les Paul everyone cheered!

Grobschnit in 1978 in a German town whos name I can't recall. I was 16 at the time and really had no clue who the freak they were. I was on high school trip and the older brother of the student I was billeted with snuck us in. Solar Music was the second half of the show which must have lasted about 3 hours.

Jean Luc Ponty twice. Once in Jarry Park in Montréal opening for Supertram and the other Theatre St Denis ( with Coryell opening as mentioned above)

Supertramp  Once with JL Ponty as mentioned above

Black Sabbath with Ian Gillan on vocals ( encore was Smoke On The Water )

Jethro Tull 3 times in the old Montréal Forum. Can't remember the tours because they always played a bit of everything

Peter Gabriel Security tour Place Des Nations Montréal '82 ??? His head was shaved and he made his way on to stage through the audience.

Almost saw Yes but the show had to be cancelled because of poor ticket sales.

There's a few more I'm sure But I've never ever ever seen Céline muttface.

I just took the folder where I keep my tickets and here's what I have prog or somehow prog-related. I have omitted a few Spanish bands which will not be known here and there are a few New Age artists, the late 80's and 90's were my most prolific years in terms of going to concerts and I consider them prog-related if not prog per se even if they are not in PA.

I have seen Dream Theater live three times and have two photographs with the band.

I haven't seen Genesis, obviously.

I have also seen The Flower Kings.

Thus I've seen 2 out of my 3 favorite prog rock bands.
