Yeah, also it's the summer ones right?
Winter olympics are way better, summer ones bore me.

That's why I asked who owns it. Artist may not give a lick of care but a label would LOL
They are already greedy b*****ds as is!

Yes, and where have you been Rico?

....so he's asking not to steal what he's stolen?

Exactly. He's been told every collage that if he sells them he'll get in sh*t. Yet he thinks someone downloading one is stealing. ARGH MORON
darksideof is just concerned cos he puts so much effort into those collages - perhaps 'moron' is unjustified here. He is just protecting his work.Smile

His work which all of those he 'borrows' from have 12 lawyers each hired to protect themselves

He is clearly absolutely ignorant to what he does and to take money for it is completely reckless. Clearly he puts time into what he does but what he does is already in dodgy legal ground without him selling it and calling those who don't buy 'THIEVES' idiot would perhaps be appropriate?
i see what you mean. the fact that he is using album covers and compiling them together means he is already stealing the work of others to create his collages. i thought that was covered by artistic license, but it means also he is using copyrighted material to make the collages. How do you get around that though? Do others use other artists work to recreate art - rap artists can compile oither songs to create a song and get away with it - a collage of music. its a grey area these days as so many artists copy others work to recreate their art. darksideof uses many artists work to recreate a collage. does that infringe copyright? it may but are the artists concerned or taking legal action? i think not.

When you see stuff that contains sampling in the mainstream media, it usually means the rights to sample were paid.

To use copyrighted material for free (under the "fair use" principle), you need to tranform it quite radically into something else. It's a very unclear border and if you get sued (like the dude with "Kind Of Bloop"), you're not going to lose lots of money one way or the other, regardless whether you think you're right or not.

We warned him that he could land in serious trouble and he shouldn't have such a care free attitude about it.

If he doesn't want to listen, we did all we can do and it doesn't actually concern us.

Yeah. Tru dat

There's much better to rage over!
Though idk how all that sh*t even works. Would the band or label technically own that?
