Shouldn't the proper term be experimetal?
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Just to clarify, this thread is in support of all those bands in the Experimental/Post metal genre that arent  Post metal as they have their own thread with post rock (though if you think its prudent to mention one of those bands here, please do).

This collection of bands is quickly becoming my favourite side to prog, what with the likes of maudlin of the Well, Kayo Dot and Indukti, even if some of them have very little in commen. Now, Tool, Anathema, Green Carnation, Indukti, Grayceon etc are all excellent bands but lets hear about other bands in the genre that could do with a bit of support. I'll get the ball rolling with an album I've ben listening to alot lately, Dark Suns Grave Human Genuine, its an absolute gem and currently running The Mars Volta's Bedlam in Goliath very close for my favourite album of the year so far.

So, thoughts, comments, protestations, expleitivs?
