Recently finished Welcome To The NHK and Speed Grapher (both were so good and will warrant a repeat viewing) and now I'm on to Gurren Lagann. It took me a couple of episodes to get into it, but I'm really liking it now. Not really the deepest plot as it's basically just good vs. evil with goofy mecha battles, but the characters are very well developed and actually make you care for them throughout.

I have started watching Ghost Hunt recently. After the impact from Attack on Titan it seems nothing special, but it is a very nice, rather calm story so far, though I think it will become more scary during the following arcs. What I particularly like about it is the depiction of the characters as good-willed but fallible persons without the overblown perfection which you see in other stories about esoteric professionals. The only exception is Kazuya "Naru" Shibuya but the others make fun of him for being so narcisstic. It is a well working mixture of slight comedy and scary ghost stories.

catched up on Noragami and its second season; really enjoyed it overall. I'm aware of the ongoing manga as it didn't include everything shown so far as well as cutting out some things in the anime (from what I've heard/seen) (Yukine's forgotten human life comes up among other things). Kind of melodramatic at some points (like episode 9). probably a 7 for season 1. Aragato so far is better in my opinion.

Yeah, he hasn't released a new chapter for Berserk in some time now. It has been running for nearly 30 years now so it's not that much of a surprise that he's got a bit bored with it, but the Dark Age is so far considerably longer than the Golden Age and made up of multiple arcs at this point.

I finished Attack on Titan recently and I can really recommend this one. It is quite action-packed and scary, with a seemingly simple scenario in the beginning, but the storyline also keeps evolving into something more ambiguous and surprising as the series goes along. I have also started reading the manga. I hope there will be a second season very soon.
The manga is great, though I consider the part which has been made into the anime (the Golden Age) the best one. The Dark Age (you get to see a glimpse of it in the beginning of the anime) is not finished yet. What I don't like about the Dark Age are the two annoying comic relief characters Puck and Isidro. It's still very good though because of the astonishing artwork. |

I finished Berserk last Friday, very addictive anime, too bad they never ended the story. I feel like I should read the manga... that's probably why it's the top rated manga on MAL.

I finished the second season of Darker Than Black, and I enjoyed it more than the first. It had a more focused (if not "darker") story line and the characters felt more fleshed out. Now I'm off to Welcome To The NHK while I try to finish Another. I'm NOT enjoying that one as much as I thought I would. Not bad, just kind of boring.

Yea especially if he entertains you or presents his opinion well.
Look at The Needle Drop, a popular music reviewing channel on YouTube, his ratings of some (many) albums i completely disagree with, but it is how it is presented and just the quality of the content that matters imo. Sure there are going to be opinions that go against the popular consensus, but it really doesn't matter in the world of art or entertainment. If you agree with that ratings of Akame, cool, then you have an instance where a show or channel can be used for recommendations - if not then just take it for entertainment.

okay, what if that opinion is out of range in regards to this anime, and i'm sorry i'm going to use this example: the BlackCriticGuy, a YouTube movie/anime critic; he gave it 5/5. should i still respect that and still support him regardless? or is it just too out of the ordinary for me to take in? should i care then?

Alright. When I was watching it whiled it aired I liked it as a real guilty pleasure anime. It's fairly shallow substance wise but it was entertaining to watch. Though while I liked it early on, it quickly became too predictable and just lost its flair. I think that is the general consensus for the show though, had a strong opening and early episodes but just went downhill .That is probably the dislike you're talking about.
Going back to your previous post: Opinions are opinions. They're sometimes fun to discuss and influence but don't take the negative side of them too seriously. Enjoy what you like. That is in general too - not just anime.

hmmmmmm.... i wanted to get this out of my chest for the past weekend regarding something...
Opinions. i respect them. even if it's complete utter bullsh*t. even if it's out of the ordinary, whether it be for worse or not. i mention this because i'm kind of "losing" my mind over something that's called "sh*t tastes." i've become to despising this phrase because it's pretty much insult to the other person. i'd still be supporting someone that has this. which becomes hypocritical of me regarding the music industry and the crappy artists that come out in today's world. i may have become so offended by this that i don't know what to believe anymore. sometimes i own up to this idea and sometimes i lean towards the wayside. i don't know what the f**k i should i do!! anyway, it mainly came out of this anime, thus relating to this thread. Akame ga Kill! so far i'm actually enjoying this series, even with the English dub. however, it has become so hated that if i mention this i get attacked at. and some of these arguments are plausible. it's not the best thing in the world, but i still get a kick out of it nonetheless. any advice on this matter, and your thoughts on this anime? would be very appreciated before i get crazy bonkers...
