Fat as he is now I don't think Greg Lake can button a shirt.

Oh you of the multistyled text and prolific emoticons that almost evoke memories of the late, great Peter Rideout. I know what you mean. You're here for the music. You don't give a damn what people do in the bedroom, and what the bloody hell does it have to do with prog? And if this doesn't describe you, it describes someone, dammit. And to they, I say prog and really music in general is an abstraction for life and its many experiences and imaginations for many people. Prog, by its nature, is more exploratory (than mainstream radio singles), like a good yarn from a quirky storyteller, even without words. People who face oppression can find a lot to love in prog. LGBT folk are people with their own experiences, and their issues are rarely centered around the bedroom (though Lawrence Vs Texas was less than a decade ago). As long as ignorance and inequality exist, there will be oppression for LGBT people, and as long as there are so many humanist themes, messages of finding solace, strength, solidarity, facing difficult obstacles, as long as unique pictures are painted of people we haven't expected to be portrayed, there will continue to be a lot to love from we. That Neal Morse picture is something I'm rather proud of. I'd been turning the logo idea over in my head, and one day, I simply couldn't resist myself. My boyfriend suggested adding the still shot from this Hell music video, and he picked out the face, too. PS, forum: the T stands for transgender/transsexual.

This coming from a man, with an open shirt showing most of his chest hair???
My dear sir, you are a bit short on credibility in this matter. In addition a few boxes down you
futher validate my point by mentioning ELP Love Beach - Three more guys showing off nipples and everythying.
Why can't men button their shirts anymore???
As a huge ELP fan, when Love Beach came out, I stopped breathing and gasped, Oh God! My Heroes have gone gay!
No kidding... (Not that there is anytihng wrong with that.)
So yeah, in light of all the non prog musicians who have been mentioned here, the ELP Love Beach reference is the closest we've seen to being on topic of the original post. Greg Lake has always had romantic lyrics, but Love Beach
seemed to tip the scales squarely into the territory of this thread.(Again, not that there is anything wrong with that...)
Going to see Greg Lake in concert in a few weeks actually. Should be cool. I hope he buttons most of his shirt.
P.S. darkshade - you know I am just having fun, right? I am not implying anything about you, only your avatar photo.

Hi Harry Hood,
I saw Neal's name in the middle of this list of known(at least to my limited capacity) rock stars, so it was kinda confusing. Good to get the clarification, and it is nice to meet you.
True story now, you really freaked out my better half when she saw your avatar photo. I love Marillion & Transatlantic, can you share the story of that less than photogenic picture of Pete T.?
Cheers!

But for that one fan, for whom Greg's words reached that intimate place...

For some reason, I don't really think the average ELP fan stammered: "Oooooh, Greeeeeg, such... Such lovely words... I would have never.... I would have never expected it from you... "

The outchorus of the title track:
I'm gonna make love to you, on love beach
Make all your dreams come true, on love beach Gonna make love to you, on love beach Gonna make your dreams come true, on love beach Gonna make love to you, on love beach... Greg is singing to the listener.
Everybody knows women don't listen to prog.
I'll leave the rest to your imagination.

That would be hilarious. But I found it when I googled "gay prog", which was the second prog-related thing I found (the first being ELP's Love Beach).

^This picture would be more efficient with two metalheads hugging each other, one with a Dream Theater shirt, another with an Entombed shirt.
Just sayin'. |

not being very familar with SB or Morse, and not having particularly cared for what I heard, it wasn't obvious to me at all, sorry . I assumed that this Hairy Butt tour was somehow a gay and out and proud event Guess that's how rumors get started |

And the bit about Neal was meant as a joke, I figured that was obvious.

He wasn't really contributing to the topic at hand. Rather than contribute to the discussion (LGBT people in prog) he was derailing the topic with bigoted statements. Of course there isn't such a thing as "gay prog" or "christian prog" in a musical sense but how is that relevant to the topic at hand? This is an appreciation thread for gay figures in the prog and prog related communities.

Dude,
If you are even one quarter as tough as the guy in your avatar, nobody is gonna come at you.
Second, I highly doubt Neal is gay and it is border-line at best, to speculate his is. Not because I like his music, but simply because if he were, he would not engage in the Evangelical movement he has been doing.
The Evangelicals are leading the way with the whole Homosexuality is against God, etc...
As a proud reformed raised Roman Catholic, I just try to make sure that people don't eat meat on Fridays.
That is my only agenda. (Oh and I do seem to have an agenda in the Bruford VS Chester Thompson Genesis drummer thread...)
An quite obviously, Gorilla's have hairy butts so, the 2 Separate Gorilla tour is a natural tie in with that, without any sexual connotation whatsoever. I guess by this logic poeple will claim that Neal likes Gorillas???
How bout a "Gorillas In The Mist" tour?

What the hell, why did someone kick out Epignosis? He was one of the 5 reasonable folk in this whole thread.
P.S. - this is a troll thread now. Enjoy.
