Firstly. Happy Birthday to Audun ( The Bearded Bard). Cake and prog was hopefully maxed out for you on Sunday. ;)
Jim (Finnforest) glad to see you spinning Invisible touch by Genesis. I really like it personally and say what you will about the 'Brazilian' but I think it's brilliant and it always makes me giggle. Banks is having just too much fun! Lol

Michael (Aussie Byrd- Bro) I'm glad to hear that Headspace's All that you fear is gone is starting to work its magic on you. I know, like most albums, it's a real grower but I am surprised its Wilson's vocals for you that are taking the longest to appreciate. Lol if anything I would think that Wilson would be loved instantly by many in our lovely prog community because his voice is like a direct combination of Freddy Mercury & Jon Anderson....hell you can even throw in a canary in my opinion too! Just my thoughts, but I think the man can sing his ass off. I am also sticking with Headspace's latest to be in my top 5 so far in 2016. It's been a great year.

Music today and yesterday. Slightly getting ready for my Devin Townsend concert tonight. ;)

The Devin Townsend Project-- addicted.
Godsmack-- 1000HP ( absolutely love it. Sam. You will to. I know you like these guys like I do. )
Opeth-- Ghost Reveries ( listened to this traveling back to Toronto on a greyhound bus from London and it knocked me right out. How the time flies when you hear such clever musical arrangements.)
Pink Floyd-- Shine on...live 1988 ( Gilmour lead Floyd in the spotlight and the performance of Dogs of War is awesome. Great set list too. 17 tracks of gold. )
Peter Gabriel-- 3 (melt) family snapshot really is lovely. The closer BIKO is still my favourite though.
Magenta-- Seven ( I really forgot how charming Christina Boothe's voice is. Envy is just an amazing song and an awesome tribute to Genesis's Entangled. Lots of similarities done by Rob Reed there.
Devin Townsend-- synchestra ( this album is weird. I need for time with it but I do appreciate what I am hearing. )

Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

For me it's between II and Houses of the Holy (even though D'yer Mak'er is a stinker, the others compensate for that Tongue). I always had problems with side 4 of Physical Graffiti, it brings the album down very much, especially after my favourite side.
I did think about playing Birds and Buildings but it was too late for such crazy music Big smile

Yesterday:
Giorgio Moroder - Midnight Express OST
The Grand Astoria - Punkadelia Supreme (Punkadelic Rock, I like the idea. The album is way too long though.)
Øresund Space Collective - Different Creatures (CD1. First listen, amazing music so far Clap)

I gotta say the first three Zepp albums are my favorites. They all score evenly with me but III will usually nudge out the other two if I'm in a particular mood.
I can recall a time (1970) when Let It Bleed and LZ III played regularly on my Sony reel to reel tape deck and Gimme Shelter and Since I've Been Loving You were regularly requested by my buddies.

Sam, I recently picked up Different Creatures on vinyl but I haven't gotten into it yet. Embarrassed
Your post tells me I should get around to that.

Birge, Gorge, Shiroc - Defense De AMAAAAAAAAAZING! Jeeez, I like improv music and all, but never thought it could get this exciting. A mix of Silver Apples and Sonny Sharrock is a comparison that has been made once. I'll go with that, adding Fred Frith, John Zorn, and bits of Tangerine Dream along the line. If you ever wanted to get into free-form improv, but never managed to do so, this is where you need to go.

Exmagma - Goldball Decent jazz-fusion with nice variations. A bit in a krauty manner in the dynamic range, but very fusiony nonetheless - loads of guitar, Rhodes, and drums going all over the place. It's not great. Just good. Pretty enjoyable, though, if you are into that sort of thing.
Categories strain, crack and sometimes break, under their burden - step out of the space provided.

Isn't Fusioon from Spain?

Of course, I meant Spain. I do know some bands from Italy. Wink

Anyway, from the past couple of days:

T2 - It'll All Work Out In Boomland - A quintessential slab of everything that was going on in the early 70's in British rock music. No More White Horses is a track that I haven't paid much attention to in the past that really stuck out this time. Not only is that concluding guitar solo the most intense moment on the record, the softer, more melancholic sections have a certain power to them as well. Great as always.

Jeff Beck - Blow By Blow - The best thing Jeff Beck ever worked on. I really love this album for so many reasons. It's certainly one of the more original fusion albums of the 70's and the more composed nature with the occasional synth orchestrations and whatnot really make it a lot more interesting to listen to than a lot of the jam-based stuff many groups were doing at the time. Tight performances and a great span of moods and styles make this one a very replay-able album.

Ramones - Leave Home - This one just came on in shuffle. There's only a handful of tracks on here that I like, namely Glad To See You Go, Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment and Carbona Not Glue. So catchy!

Traveling Wilburys - Traveling Wilburys Vol. 3 - My less preferred of the two Traveling Wilburys albums, but I still really like a few of the songs on here, like She's My Baby (that guitar solo ROCKS) and Wilbury Twist, which is plenty of fun. Some of the other folk rock tracks on here are enjoyable, too, for nostalgia's sake more than anything.

Jeff Beck - Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop - A great guitar player's album. The rock tracks rock hard and the softer tracks Behind The Veil and Where Were You are quite beautiful.

Yes - Yes - I've actually warmed up to this one quite a bit the past few times I've listened to it. I think I'm going to rewrite my (largely negative) review of it if I find time later.

Rayuela - Rayuela - One of my all time faves and it loses no energy with each listen. One thing I couldn't help but notice this time around is how great of a track Vientos De La Calma is. What a fantastic and surprisingly original take on the blues. Actually, a lot of the arrangements on this album are very subtly creative. There's no doubt that Rayuela were a bunch of musicians who were as intelligent as they were soulful. They knew exactly what they were capable of and executed their ideas perfectly. Love it.

Quicksilver Messenger Service - Happy Trails - This is only the second or third time I've actually put this on. I bought it for about $5 a few months ago with absolutely no expectations and I've gotta say, they've been met! LOL The music on here isn't bad by any means but it really amounts to little more than a lot of very typical pentatonic rock/country/blues jamming, sort of like a less inspired Grateful Dead performance. Love the cover art, though!

Heck i am doing it right now as I write this to you, Michael!
