Bah, don't talk about metal, we're complaining about neo prog here! |
But metal > neo-prog

I for one can't wait for the new PRR album. And though I've downloaded the Frost*, I've not really listened to it. The first song is the definition of not grabbing the interest of a listener, even a huge fan of neo like me.

They have another album coming out in about a month. And I plan on getting it.

I've not heard it but Saxon played a pub in my area recently and no, I didn't go to see them. I've heard some of the new Iron Maiden album though and they sound much better now than they used to.

And I disliked Frost* at first mostly for the annoying asterix... but now I dislike them for their actual music.

But at least Frost* and Pendragon have the unremovable taint of Neo, which inhibits discussion. There is no shame in Crossover, so people don't feel pressured by the ancient prejudices.
And assaf likes them, but I suspect that he likes everything.
I wish I could be somewhere where the drinking games would have 65dos.

I cannot see how that is possible...
Although to be fair, I've only heard the opening track from their first album and it sounded like N-sync only worse.

Even though I like PT, I may make my list differently (since I can vote now) just to try to keep that from happening. Seriously, PT is good, but I would say they definitely don't need any more attention around here.

Unfortunately we have Frost* instead. They released a terrible, yet well loved album. Then they broke up and said they weren't releasing another (hooray!). Now they have a new album out... ![Confused Confused](smileys/smiley5.gif) ![Cry Cry](smileys/smiley19.gif)

Maybe it could compete with PT for prog album of the year!

They're good musicians and Chloe can sing.
It's just they're compositions are awful.
But you make like them... David sounds like he does.
|
I may; we'll find out.
David likes them alot, yes. Our tastes are pretty similar, but not entirely matched either. I lean towards RIO more and he leans towards metal.
I still can't stand Between the Buried and Me and he loves them. I'll have to give them another try soon too.
|
I don't want to listen to metal anymore, really.
Whether that's a temporary thing or not, I don't know.
|
I like metal, but I'm picky with it the most when it comes to my sub-genres, it seems. It's not like Post Rock or Krautrock where I simply don't care for the entire sub-genre as much as I do others, but I love some metal bands/genres and don't like others. The vocals in BTBAM are what keep me from enjoying it, mostly.
