Yeah, it definitely has all of the normal Lord of the Rings "cliches."
The combat is wonderful.  Much better than KOTOR's, in my opinion, though it is similar.

That's the one thing I was afraid they wouldn't be able to do, but I think they did a nice job fixing some of the things about it that required fixing.

Can't say I have. I have seen a few clips and I know his movies are highly-acclaimed.
