The reasons for not placing Israel in an Asian qualification zone are obvious.

I think that a case of Kazakhstan is also a political rather than a geographical one (though different from the case of Israel, of course).

Anyway, being a citizen of both countries in certain moments of my life, I'm pretty glad to see both in a European zone (more chances for me to see some European football)...

LOL you think it's good news? who will take charge next...?

ChL news: Milan got through (and first as expected) from the group,
so did Celtic (they deserved it I think)
Shaktar lost their home game to Benfica, thus, the 'Eagles' are through to UEFA cup
big blow for Shaktar as they have invented a lot of money this year
(including a 15 m. Euro purchase of Castillo from Olympiakos...)

Good news for the Dutch, Van Basten will not continue to be the coach of the national team after Euro 2008!

How come? We've already beaten the Dutch in the qualifiers, it's time now for the French (I doubt it we can beat the Italians, though). Also we've beaten Spain and Turkey in the latest friendlies. Remember that at our last Euro we've qualified from a group with England, Germany and Portugal - guess who went home Wink
I was rather upset by this very strange way to combine the teams, having so many contenders for the title together in the early stages.

Absolutely. Poland appear to have improved again, I think Croatia beat a very frightened England side. Dont forget, IF England had have qualified they would have been expected to perform better than Croatia in the finals. Croatia were made to look good and dont forget they lost 2-0 in Macedonia.

Oh, I am... quick question...is Kazakhstan REALLY in Europe?Confused  Their capital is on the Chinese border....Shocked

at least it's closer to Russia (considered a European country) than Israel is to any other European country...Wink

They moved their capital from Alma-Ata (which is close to the Chinese border) to Astana (closer to Russia)... Anyway, it's not a European country.

Israel isn't either. But considering their qualification to the World Championship in 1970 which they made from the Oceania zone (if I'm not mistaken) (exact placing, by the way...) Europe is closer to them...

Bolton were better at the 2nd half, but it was a shame...

If they continue playing on like this, they won't get better in the Pr. League
they always play with long balls, long throws, long throw-ins (!)... frustrating...

but that's how most teams in the Premier League play! Wink
