Yes, because, as we all know, if you don't like Rush, you can't be a prog band. |

that is a fair point, but if it was Eminem was claiming to be prog, I could understand why he is not included. but this is band who are quite simply PROG! ...this is an argument/discussion that is neverending I suppose. |

They didn't like Rush until recently, so Claudio Sanchez is not trying to sound like Geddy Lee at all. (another one of your factual inaccuracies). It all depends on the criteria for defining prog. Coheed appear to tick all the right boxes, IMO. It just seems to be prejudice about a band which are also linked to the emo sound. |

Well, we can't just include every band which claims to be prog ... |

I for one don't care if Claudio what's his face sounds like Geddy Lee. That won't make me like them. If anything I'll have less respect for him not finding his own unique voice. Secondly, I don't see how the band is progressive, and unless I'm mistaken, I think they're just trying it out now. Were they calling themselves prog on thier first album? |

so what is the deal here? the band, themselves, say they are prog rock. what else do people need to satisfy themselves that coheed should be included in the Archives? I feel incredulous that this band are not on this site, when this site should represent the spectrum of what prog rock has to offer.

click on the interveiw, to hear the members themselves explain why they consider themselves progressive rock music. They have me sold and I've only hear 8 of their songs. Its a shame that this band isn't in the archives because it is clear that they are prog, while bands like Queen are added with only a couple of prog releases. I love Queen and actually am glad they are here, but before adding bands that are just art rock with some prog, true prog should be included. Edited by video vertigo |

it is absurdly long. but the idea is that it is a 2 volume record. so their 4th album title will probably be even longer!!! I like it though. |

yeah, but it's still one of the most pretentious, though hilarious, album titles ever btw. I'm so buying this album! IKSOSE is one of my favorite albums ever and if the whole album sticks to the quality of this one track on the page, "Apollo" will even surpass its predecessor. Edited by threepwood |

the title relates precisely to the story and the final few lyrics on a song from their 2nd album. (Apollo is the hero's dog) |

on www.coheedandcambria.com/ you can listen to a song from the
upcomming album "Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV, Volume 1: From Fear
Through The Eyes Of Madness".
The song kicks major ass (has quite a metal touch) and the album title couldn't get anymore prog well actually I think it's the most pretentious, hilarious, bloody awful title ever. EVER. But if the music sticks to the quality of the track you can listen in advance, this will be a serious challanger for my album of the year. (on a side note: IKSOSE is one of my favorite albums ever) Edited by threepwood |

Man Coheed are prog IMO especially seeing as they have a 35 minute long musical suite split into 4 sections at the end of the album. If that isn't progressive at least by nature then i am a totally insane cornwall fisherman who goes out to catch fish at his local indoor swimming pool! These boys along with Oceansize and The Mars Volta are really pushing the musical boundaries at the current moment. So come on Admin get these guys back up there where the belong!!
