WatchTower in 1990 in Duesseldorf. Remains the best concert I've been to until today.

I am fortunate enough to say yes.

Yes - Twice in the 70s, the 74 tour they did both the Close to the Edge and Tales from Topographic Oceans suites!  Also saw them in the 80s and just recently in 2012.
Kansas - somewhere in the late 70s
John McLaughlin & the 4th Deminsion - 2007, this band was better than the Mahavishnu stuff as it had some melody to the madness.

No worries Mate. They will come to you once again. Really I think DT is starting the 2nd half of their career now, so there is lots of rocket sauce left in the bottle!!! New drummer...new beginnings. Lots more to come. "the mirror" never lies

I'm from Toronto and I have seen them twice at the molson amphitheater, once at Massey Hall and once at the Philmore in Detroit. Just love them!!!

Lucky you!

Dream Theater are on my 'to do' list. Haven't had the pleasure of seeing them live yet. They don't tour down where I am (Australia) all that much. They came down a few years ago, but I stupidly missed out on tickets.

I've seen Porcupine Tree and Opeth once each, down here, and I will definitely see DT if they come again.
Hello, mirror. So glad to see you, my friend. It's been a while...

I've seen Introitus in Uppsala in January of last year. So far I'm their only fan outside Sweden who has come to see them play in their own country. Last November I also saw them at the final Progfarm festival.

Lucky you, I saw Genesis in the Abacab tour (Three Sides Live) in Barcelona but they did not play Supper's Ready Unhappy although it was a fantastic concert anyway Tongue.

I also saw Marillion in the Fugazi tour and it was absolutely amazing, and also ABWH with Levin, both great concerts indeed! Tongue

The first time I saw Genesis was 1982, when they played Supper's Ready for the last time. The warm-up act for Genesis was no other  than... King Crimson on their Discipline tour! The whole concert was an amazing live experience. I saw them separately several times later on. I never saw Genesis or King Crimson in their 70's line-ups, unfortunately.
I have seen Marillion (Fish-era) live.

I have seen a later reunion of Yes with Anderson and Wakeman.
I have seen Supertramp for the first time in 1983, (with Chris de Burgh as warm-up act), but I felt they were already past their peak at that time.
I went to nearly every tour of Peter Gabriel since the early 80's and it was always a highlight.  Cool

Nice thread; saw Tull in the days before Ian played the flute on stage, then many times during various lineups; also saw Yes when Peter Banks and Tony Kaye were in the band, but stopped watching after the 'classic' lineup first split; saw early Crimson shows with THAT band, never watched after that disintegration. Love the Nice and saw ELP several times, but only at the height of their fame.

I'm of an age that I was lucky to get see all the greats in the original line-ups including: King Crimson, Yes, Genesis, VdGG etc. Have also saw the later versions of these bands but have gave up on Yes's ever changing vocalist. Would rather see these guys singing with their own bands. A fave from the 70's that I only managed to see once is PFM. Lesser lights that were great live include Hawkwind & Camel.

I really must listen more to Glass Hammer. Recommendations, my friend?

I'm surprised you didn't go to see Yes this time around.

Do you have Shadowlands?

Hah!  Nice to hear from you, Steve!

Sir Richard was one of the BEST politicians I ever met!  This was the prog equivalent of "kissing babies"!   The musicians know which side of the bread is buttered, eh?

I regret not seeing Yes when they passed through Chicago recently, I would have loved to have seen Jon Davison with the band!  However, I'm also friends with Glass Hammer & since they have a new recording due out soon ("Perilous," in final mix-down as I type this), they'll tour as well.

See them while you can, ladies and gents!  These fellows aren't getting younger, and I'm sorry to say, there are no emerging talents out there up to snuff with Fripp, Squire or Wakeman that I've heard of.

Wow! You are all so lucky. I would give a almost anything to see King Crimson, but distance and time have put an end to it.. Cry
Have to survive on DVDs and brilliant recordings.
