@Cristi, it's up to Lorenzo to decide but it would be helpful if you could at least nominate your song.

As mentioned earlier, it is actually not advisable to submit excerpts of a piece if it doesn't work in a stand-alone way. I had considered making a video myself by including 2-3 movements of this concerto but I unfortunately couldn't find the time to do so. Well, instead of withdrawing or submitting some random track instead I will stick to my first choice and will therefore nominate one out of six movements of The Sound of Trees (2020) which will ideally make you want more. I think that this young talent deserves to be heard.

I nominate Mick Karn -  The Sad Velvet Breath of Summer and Winter (which was my third suggestion and is on p. 3).

Hmm, I thought the nominations would have been up by now... I'll wait for that, because I won't spend the time this time to listen to all suggestions put forward. I just don't have that time now at hand and, since the weekend is almost over, I won't get to listen to anything for the next 10 days or so...

My nomination is:

Paolo Fresu: Luce d'Autunno
Amos Goldberg (professor of Genocide Studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem): Yes, it's genocide. It's so difficult and painful to admit it, but we can no longer avoid this conclusion.

Lately we have all been a bit distracted by something else, I am about to finish a long convalescence and go back to work, Nickie has left us (hopefully for a little while) and we all miss her, Christian and Kees are busy, The Anders is producing his own music...

It's a moment of tiredness for the Interactive polls, but we hope to return to listen and comment on our suggestions to each other.

As much as I would like to, I can't manage to comment on all the suggestions and as it turns out I'm not the only one. It might make sense to slightly adapt the concept of the IP's by limiting it to one proposal per person? This would possibly bring a little more dynamism into the game. People could comment on the suggestions as soon as they are posted. Besides we wouldn't run out of material so quickly. - Btw, is there a possiblity for a little promo in other threads?

I think it's a good idea.

Quite good!

Mila, are you enough openminded for this song? Wink

LOL
Well, taking part is one thing, winning is another. Wink
By the way, I don't think anyone has to care about anybody else's tastes when selecting tracks. As long as you don't care for winning that is (which I don't, and neither does it bother me if anyone writes "I don't like your track because...").

@Greg
"I wouldn't have a problem with nominating a specific movement (or piece) from a greater composition, or a portion of a suite (especially if I had a youtube link to it). I guess it would depend on if I felt that it could operate in a stand-alone way or needed more context for appreciation."

You put into words what I wanted to say. I think that the suggested excerpt needs more context for appreciation of the concerto.

@Cristi
"A couple of the songs I nominated here got some negativity, I felt a bit discouraged, but what can I do,  I can't please them all."

That's true. I don't want to please at any cost but I don't want to bore people either. Otherwise interaction can't work.
