That's because it isn't actually a VDGG album. Rather, it's a collection of songs (presumably thrown together by Devoncir himself) taken from three Peter Hammill solo albums (Chameleon In The Shadow Of The NightIn Camera, and The Silent Corner And The Empty Stage) which are often considered to be part of the VDGG discography since all the other band members collaborate on them.

Not quite right Disapprove
Actually  Geek
Wink  5 of the songs ARE VDGG songs ( W, Liquidator, Rift, Roncevaux , Ferret (extra form 1st VDGG album ))
Wink  3 songs ARE VDGG extra tracks, recorded live, (Louse, Blackroom, Gog) - and also VDGG always plays these ones
Wink  2 songs are completed VDGG songs from VDGG's Time Vaults (Faint , Forsaken) and also recurrent part of the live VDGG live repertoire.
.
and Shocked Broken Heart ONE  Broken Heart Shocked song is from Peter Hammill discography : Modern.ShockedShocked
.

Ah, now I understood.

My favorite is Pawn Hearts. But I'm still wondering if my second is World Record or Godbluff.

I never heard of this VDGG album Confused. I will try to listen later

This album doesn't exist, Crybur isn't it great?ClapBig smile

GeekThis is an possible album, that should have been released in 73, had Pawn Hearts made more sucess - the sucess it deserved.  The lost album could be double:Wink 5 songs from VDGG plus Wink5 PH songs that are recurrently played live by VDGG, and were even included as extras in VDGG albuns.Sleepy The only exception is "Modern", that is based only in my opinion -- I think it´s very VDGGish, and well recorded.  Thumbs Up

That's a great way of thinking about it.

I'm listening to Still Life at this moment and thinking this might be my favourite... but then tomorrow I'll listen to Godbluff/Pawn Hearts/He to HE/The Least We Can Do and think the same thing.
(If I had a gun to my head I'd pick Godbluff cos Arrow is such an awesome song)
Thank you very much Astrowhiz.  I pretty much feel the same way.  The Least We Can Do Is Wave To Each Other touches me a little more than the other earlier works.  And on Godbluff it is Sleepwalkers that got the most airplay out of me.  cheers!

"Pawn Hearts" for me , but "Godbluff" is excellent as well. unlike most others I consider "World Record" to be better than "Still Life". I actually don't think they ever made any weak album though; all are at least 4 stars, even the first one.

Friede and I actually went through a VdGG marathon yesterday and listened to all 13 studio albums in succession and completeness; a 12 hour task. wow, what a ride!

their latest album "Do Not Disturb" is excellent, by the way. my favorite track is "(Oh No! I Must Have Said) Yes". the album is a strong competitor to their best material from the 70s
