I took an entire course on the Soviet block after World War 2. While I of course do not have the personal experience, learning about them, even almost half a century after some of the events happened, is still awful. I meant nothing bad by my remark.
Our Polish friend does seem to have calmed down though, at least for now.

Jaruzelski is gone (he passed away not long ago) . Being born in that neck of the woods, I know the stories only too well, but it was mostly the 50s, 60s, 70s (and towards the mid 80s in Poland and East Germany) that there was some serious nastiness. Many have legitimate nightmares but some of what he said was delusional , like Walesa being a soviet plant (?) , if so not a very clever one, poor thing!

Zippity zapped away. I sent him a PM. I don't know what his deal is - seems like he had some bad experiences with communist Poland or something.
 Thanks for the heads-up. I also told him I'll ban him if he keeps it up. Hopefully that won't seem to Jaruzelski-esque for him.
