well this was fun... but a final thought to you Robert...

I don't want to pay for thousands of people who venture here for a better life illegally.

if that is truly the case... why aren't you advocating an easy path to citizenship.... if you really care about what you supposedly pay.  You do the commen sense thing.. and make it easy for them.. and others to come legally and pay for these things that leave you all so hot and bothered.. they are coming.. and will come whether you like it or not.

those that don't... leave only one possibility open in the minds of those who wonder why they are so ademently against them.   If it isn't economic... it must be something else................

hahahhaha... oh brother...  think for a minute Robert..  just think what you WOULD pay if they were all just tossed out of the country.  You are from SE SC...   how much would they have to pay you to work in that Smithfield plant in Tar Heel. Want to see how much your pork will cost when you have to pay lazy self-intitled white guy $25 an hour to slaughter hogs and work in the conditions of that plant.

why is immigration restricted..... fear... by bigots.  Spare me the f**king economics.. if immigration wasn't made so difficult.. those people would now be citizens.. and paying taxes.

1. You are misunderstanding me.  My point was just because something happened in the past doesn't mean we have to accept it as okay now (i.e., illegal immigration).

2. Immigration must be restriction, and I'm not a bigot.  I welcome people from anywhere...so long as they follow the RULES.  I think that's reasonable.  I get why you have a personal problem with it, but I will NOT spare you the economics of it, because we don't live in a fantasy world.  People have to pay for sh*t in real life.  I don't want to pay for thousands of people who venture here for a better life illegally.

People want to come to America?  Let them learn to respect our laws.

Micky, no offense, but that's really... I'll too refrain from being disrespectful.  But here you are.

It's like saying this:

Me: "Slavery is wrong!"

You: "What?! How can you say slavery is immoral? Your country was built by slaves! How can you say slavery is immoral?"

Without war, illegals wouldn't have anywhere to go.

deleted a slightly disrespectful comment.... I'll do the rare thing for me..and be diplomatic...

that has to be one of the 'oddest' statements I've ever read.

not sure what you kiddies think illegals are doing....  let me give you a clue... they are trying to find a better life.. just like your f**king relatives were... and mine for that matter.

just think where this country would be if twits who share this fear of illegal immigration ruled this country in the first half of the last century.  It is those immigrants that make this country as great ..well... as great as it was.. and still could be.

A thief is trying to find a better life...do we tolerate his behavior?

And by the way, most of my ancestors (both sides) were natives.

and every 7-11 I've ever dropped by LOL

some of my coworkers have been known to partake of their services... we were digging Saturday under some 17kv lines and as much as a flaming liberal as I am... I wanted to head to the nearest 7-11.  To grab a pack of Winstons, a Diet Coke, and a Mexican to take my shovel LOLLOL

Cell phones are pretty much mandatory these days, and if you cut out the landline it's not more expensive. iPod is another matter.

I have no idea, although I suspect your perception of them is not entirely accurate. But you can't say that the system is so accurate that there is no way anyone who is illegal could ever be in a position to pay income tax and also say the system is so inaccurate that it hands out welfare checks to anyone who wanders into the office.

The only taxes they pay are consumer taxes and that is not enough for the state to overcome the services they use.
Renters pay property taxes too, and I assume that the IRS is not infallible even if they did purchase a house. I have no idea how the details of the tax system work, but there are 11.6 million illegal immigrants, and I have trouble believing that every one of those jobs is under the table cash. But maybe I'm wrong.

Property taxes are usually tied into the rent they pay. Oh wait, welfare pays for their rent, so that means you and me pay the property tax.
If they're illegal, how would they be getting welfare? Confused

Well how the hell are they living? Their are quite a few who simply hang around in my town.
