As I am from Serbia (one of the ex-former Yugoslav republics), I am pretty conversant with the scene, and as the best represents I would mention bands as Smak, Leb i Sol, Time, Korni Grupa, and many more.

Smak are really great. I know you don't have that only because you didn't find any at the music shop you went to.
 
I also have a compilation that features the whole Smak debut plus a half of the EP Satelit. Fantastic music!!
 
Crna Dama is more polite and refine. Tegoba is simply amazing. A highly recommended album (and I know you don't need any further information to believe me...).
 
 

Andrea, thanks for a nice and brief review of Dugme's "Eto baš hoću" !Thumbs Up

I am doing image cover updates. I started with Yugo bands... I think now the covers look better and in some cases I inserted original LP vinyl covers instead of later CD reissues, like BIJELO DUGME for instance....

I must say they I don't think they belong here. Their prog connections is very limited. it was probably that shop...don't remember the name exactly.
 
To be honest I visited two shops: the first at the great multi-floor variety shop (at 4th floor) in the central square and the other was near the dock besides a very nice XIX century palace (yellow coloured). There is the head office of the italian consulate ...

Wow! Where did you get these? The only place that I know that could remotely have those albums is Dallas Music Shop..which is, like 15 minutes from my home, so send a PM next time when you're here again so we can have a beer!

EKV is one of my top fav bands ever! Star They are certainly "progressive" but in a post-new wave meaning of the word. They have strong "alternative" and "art" approach towards rock music. I am still not sure whether they should be added here, but since Šarlo and Dr. Spira are already here, the gate is open....

Pro Arte is one of my preferred EX Yu band!!!

Yeah, their psych/RnB debut LP (see my avatar) is one of important early albums of YU rock, unfortunately it is often overlooked.

I think recently this album was issued as CD remaster with some extensive bonus material. Need to check that too. Thanks. I just added this Prvi sneg video clip here. Although I dont like adding poor videos made with amateur equipment from the audience, I guess this song deserves since it is most representative of Spira's work.
