It's strange, but I still remember buying that album as a spotty 15 year old, really looking forward to it as I spent my money on all the albums by the great bands I could find. That's 30 years ago now, and I recall clearly hating the album on at least the first ten listens. It was, to those young ears, an incredible letdown after the majesty of I, II, IV, and Houses of the Holy. It wasn't until at least ten years later that I really started to appreciate it for the incredible folk rock album it is, and it has since become one of my favourite albums of all time, to be cherished and played at exactly the right time. This, BTW, is absolutely not a comment on yours or anybody elses tastes or opinion, just me ruminating after at least four bottles of Pedigree ale

Very difficult, all great songs. I picked "Song Remains the Same" because it encapsulates so much Zep in one spot.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

Very difficult choice, so I will think on it, but I would have plumped, I think, for In My Time Of Dying if it had been there.

Well, best OR favourite? It' "best" in the thread title and "favourite" in the poll question.
The best may be WLL, but my favourite will forever be "Good Times Bad Times". The opener of my first rock album. The beginning and the basis of my musical education.
I don't consider Achilles' Last Stand an opener, it's a mini-epic put as first track on the album.

Either The Song Remains The Same or Achilles Last Stand. Since the latter is behind on votes, Achilles it is.

Have to give Achilles Last Stand a vote. One of Zeps really progressive tracks. May not be one of their more popular numbers, but there is a lot of very cool playing on this song.
Song Remains the Same is a close second for me. Some of Page's most interesting playing.

Very Tough
I can't decide between Whole Lotta Love....Immigrant Song...and Achilles Last Stand. Needs thinking about.

I´m curious but that´s a bloody good selection!!!
My choice is Good Times Bad Times. This is The Opener of openers!
