Who the f**k gets to decide what "prog" means?

Hi Itchy,

I believe the song is more oriented towards Alternative/Indie, with vocals that remind me of Bryan Adams but better. I like the interplay of acoustic guitar with electric instruments, not my cup of tea but can't deny sounds pretty good.

And about being Prog or sounding like Porcupine Tree, I don't believe so, but as I always say, Pog is not a synonym of good, only a genre.

BTW: I don't like Porcupine Tree at all. so not being negative about the sound of your song.

I'm really not out to offend anyone. Surely some people must dislike the song - I'm one of them. Paravion isn't a 'real' person - just some internet character or board-persona - whose outbursts don't (or shouldn't) bear any offensive force.

OP plays in a band - he should be used to direct, unfiltered and biased criticism.

Not quite prog but a very mellow tune. Lyrics are quite nice and vocals are excellent if you ask me.

Hi all, my band has been compared to 'Porcupine Tree' - but I don't quite see it myself...

We have been told that we are very much a prog band, but the way we see it is that we just play the music we like to hear. We've got some tracks that you can preview on iTunes and Amazon, but our signature tune is 'Rapture' which you can listen to for free on our music video...
