Is that the remastered Sitting Targets?

Think so.

You wouldn't have a 7-string if it wasn't for Charlie Christian. Not that he played one but he did play electric guitar in its infancy. Les Paul was influenced by him hugely.
Many fusion guitarists were influenced by Christian and Les Paul.
I've no idea who Charlie Hunter is though.

Charlie Hunter, interestingly enough, actually does play 7 and 8 string guitars, and is one of the most well known modern jazz guitarists who plays guitars with over 6 strings, so in a way, without his influence as being one of the first to do, a lot of jazzers might not be playing 7/8 strings

Rob, how's Veracious?
Mike, I just felt Fish Rising was messy and uninspired. I'll give it another listen.

Still not heard it, tbh. Sitting Targets just arrived too. Been listening to more VDGG and less Hammill lately... sure it'll swing round soon enough

Charlie Christian, Charlie Parker and Charlie Hunter were/are all geniuses in their own way. My preferred of the bunch is Hunter.

As well as Charlie Parker, it's also about Charlie Hunter.

Actually, it's "And the Glass Handed Kites" by Mew. Absolutely fantastic rich, textured atmospheric music. It's somewhat poppy with prog sensibilities.
Although I can see how some people would think they could fit in Crossover on this site. But then again, this is the only album I've heard by them so far, so take my thoughts on that matter with a grain of salt.

That's a great album. Frengers is another good one.

Hm. Awake is actually pretty damn good... really good. Maybe a bit overlong, I prefer slightly sharper keys, and Labrie and Portnoy are both very annoying once in a while, but overall, I did think it was a great album.

I still need some Art Bears. ![Cry Cry](smileys/smiley19.gif) But I still need that damn boxset too. So AB must wait because of priorities. Although it sounds like I MAY be able to work out a deal with my parents on the boxset come sometime this spring, so I have my fingers crossed.

What's your beef with this album, James? It's nothing like GonG? I like it, it's heavy

Oooh.
I shall PM you sometime in the future then. I have acquired the Hodgkinson '90s versions of the Henry Cow albums too. Strictly for comparison purposes, of course.
I read somewhere and I don't know how accurate it is, that some of the Bremen concert material was used on the Hodgkinson Remixes... hmm.

I need to listen to the third one more, but they're all excellent.
I've not heard that gig.

I shall be listening to it later. That's despite the fact I just ordered The Art Box. ![LOL LOL](smileys/smiley36.gif) How about the third? Also, have you heard their 1st May, 1979 RIO Concert gig?
