I remember waiting with baited breath to hear Drama and I was left in a state of wanting after the first hearing. Ya, I like the album. The worst part about Drama was the tour. It was awful. Trevor Horn had so much trouble with the other Yes stuff. It was kind of embarrassing to watch and hear really. I felt for him.
It really was Yes' last great album. The end of a era if you will. Magnification gives us hope for better things to come.
Here is my list of Yes albums in order of preference:
1. TFTO
2. CTTE
3. The Yes Album
4. Relayer
5. Fragile
6. Magnification
7. Tormato
8. GFTO
9. Key Studio
10. Drama
11. Yes
12. Time and a Word

Wait a minute E. Did you not see my post? I like Drama. And you and I have had more than a few discussions about Fisless Marillion. I am also a fan of Trevor Horn. He is very creative, and has been involved with many outstanding projects. Steve Hogarth does not impress me as having the same kind of talent.

Close to the Edge is amazing!! Fragile is incredible!!
That should prevent people from reading the small text.

I really don't see what Duke and Drama have to do with each other, aside from being released in the same year.
I think Drama is Yes's last four star album.

The dominance of Squire's bass playing, as well as a tight sound
brought to the table by Howe and White with newcomers and one-time
Yesmen Downes and Horn, this incarnation of Yes probably would've made
a sweet second album if they stayed together. Unfortunately, most
people didn't and still can't get around the Anderson-less Yes on
Drama, with it's appropriate title, but with some harder-edged music
that I enjoy.

well said... I always thought Drama spotlighted the underappreciated
critical component of the 'Yessound' which were their stellar
vocal harmonies. Though there is no Anderson.. it still sounds
like Yes vocal-wise....

not consider it as an actual Yes piece, and can judge it without the
previous background.
still basically it isn't really good. |
hmmm... I tend to define bad albums as those lacking... good moments... hahah

The last great Yes album. By far their most under appreciated album. It's a really strong album in that while Machine Messiah rightly gets most of the attention there are some other great tracks on the album. Into the Lens is brilliant as is Tempus Fugit. Man in a White Car is one of my favourite sub two minute filler tracks on any album by any band.

I actually was expecting not to like this this album, but it's very good. it is different, but that's a good thing. I wouldn't have wanted the new guys to just be session men. I think it was the last four star Yes album. There is no argument that it is better than "Tormato," but I think it is even better than "Going for the One."

Great album. Howe, Squire, and White are firing on all cylinders here.
