I dont have any friends...........
No really it sucks because all the people I used to sit around and discuss and dissect and listen to prog with when I was younger, we've all moved away and kind of drifted apart. I feel like an outsider and totallly alone in my progness. My wife doesnt understand, she thinks I listen to alot of "weird" music. Thank God for the internet and places like this where I can vent.

If they're listen to prog they're my friends!!!
OK,lets see...my fellow students don't even aware of my music tastes(but they can guess looking on my hair ).I have a friend in other town,he's a prog maniac(he got me into some avan-prog and Italian prog),and a friendNESS in another town. She listened to Metal (mostly Gothic and Doom),and it was easy to got her into neo and prog-metal...also Scandinavian and Classic prog among her favourities. Also a friend of mine, who lives next door, listens to some stuff I give him. He's a huge neo-fan,as well as prog-metal and classic 70s prog(mostly from The Big 10 Bands).Another one is a drummer,I got him into prog(he used to listen to alternative ) - TOOL,ANEKDOTEN,KING CRIMSON,PORCUPINE TREE,MARS VOLTA is what he likes best now
AND I'VE FOUND DOZENS OF FRIENDS HERE!!! ON ARCHIVES!!!

Oh... you poor, poor soul. I too know the burden of friends with questionable musical tastes... As I've mentioned before, I have but one friend who 'likes' prog. However, it is only because I have sent him most of the music over the internet. I have another friend who is into classical rock and stuff, but does appreciate prog rock bands, solos and the like from prog songs.

None f them. They don't know what is prog rock, and never hear about Pink Floyd! They listen carp pop, and the well-educated listen to MPB (Brazilian folk music, with touches of jazz and soul). The rst of the family think of music as a way of dancing, screaming or just annoying the nieghbourhood (the ones that listen to Rio Funk - please don't ask what is this)

A lot of my friends listen to prog, although few would admit it openly.

I've got one friend who appreciates the musicianship but his taste is mostly classic rock and cheesy hair metal, my other friends tend to listen to the rubbish in the charts.

I have plenty that are into modern prog bands such as Radiohead, etc...

Wow, i feel so lucky reading your posts. My friend circles are mostly proggers. Not just that, 2 of my 3 brothers are proggers, each of us prefers different styles of prog. Also many of my cousins are proggers.
