Seem to be a lot of options where I love one of the albums but not the other! I've gone for BBT although even there I would swap out Underfall Yard for Folklore although it's a lot closer than say Mike Oldfield where I prefer a bunch of albums he did over Tubular Bells. Thought about Deep Purple but I would probably even go for their most recent album over Machine Head where they were mostly just repeating the formula of In Rock. For Steve Hackett I would pick a modern album over Spectral Mornings and for The Who I am more a fan of Who By Numbers than Quadrophenia but on a prog site that is never going to be the option.

Voyage of the Acolyte, Spectral Mornings. Hard to let go Purple and Oldfield.

I landed on Rubycon & Phaedra as my favorite twofer here, but it was close:
self-titled, The Rotters' Club Blackstar, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust Polygondwanaland, Nonagon Infinity Area: Arbeit Macht Frei, Crac ! Felona e Sorona, Uomo di Pezza The Doors, Strange Days -are all certainly up there as well... |

^ Tangerine Dream, Univers Zero and Area are favourites of mine, so those three will have found their way into many of the polls that are lists of my favourite albums by my favourite acts. General note: This poll came about because of conversations I have had with members. It seems to me to be a mildly fun (for those of us who like trivial site stats) and unusual way to show results in the charts that includes Proto-Prog and Prog Related since normally those do not come up in those, and a bit of a distraction for me from things I should be doing and worrying about in the tedium of putting it together. :) And I like the idea of choosing between set duos and trios, considering not just the act or one album but the specific line-ups of albums, as well as maybe mentioning what one's preferred album line-ups would be from favourite bands. |

Nice idea. Many great duos here, and I have a hard time picking one. You are doing many polls and some bands come up very often, so I make my job easier by avoiding to vote for anyone I have voted in your polls already. That rules out Tangerine Dream, Mike Oldfield and probably also Univers Zero and Area (for sure I've voted for them in polls, not 100% sure it was yours).
That leaves Renaissance as the strongest choice (pretty sure I haven't voted for them in any of your polls; I know I have voted for them in a Renaissance poll, but that doesn't really count...)

I put up a 25 Acts Album Trios From Prog Archives Chart poll yesterday. This time I am only including acts that have two albums in the 250 chart, no more, no less. I have organised this by chart order and these are based on the first 25 acts I found in the chart with two albums in the top 250.
HERE is the chart for reference CLICK, which includes Prog Related and Proto Prog This list just missed out on one I would be very tempted to vote for, which is Klaus Schulze's Mirage and Timewind. Please vote for a duo where you like and appreciate both albums. ----------------------------------- Lots of duos I like here. If it was Bowie's Blackstar and Hunky Dory then that surely would get my vote right now, but I still love Ziggy Stardust. Those Hatfield's are really great and could be an easy vote for me. With Area I do love Caution Radiation Area but in the cart are great. The Orme duo is superb. The Univers Zeros are both very good, but Uzed would not be in my top two or three (I prefer the earlier albums). The King Gizz duo, Santana's, Black Sabbath's and The Doors are great as are others. But I am leaning towards Tangerine Dream right now, or... Hmm, no, going with Bowie. |
