I recommend Aurora. An awesome band. Listen to their self titled album Aurora from 77'. I'd call it Jass fusion/prog rock. A perfect mix of an ass kicking bass, energetic drums, electryfing guitar and an orgasmic violin. A must hear!

Yeah "Why" is an incredible bonus track. I love the way the bass builds throughout the song towards insanity. I like "Why" so much that I secretly count "WHY" as part of the original "Demons & Wizards".

Hello to all,
Rando, Thats one of the best genres, I recently found a great 'bonus track', don't know how rare, but worth a spin, " Why " on "Demons & Wizards". its got some heavy bass, & idk 'bout you, but I like it.

I only discovered their 2nd album the other week and I can't believe I've not heard it before, especially as Hatfield + The North's Rotter's Club has always been one of my fav prog albums. It's brilliant for something a bit off the wall I recommend Cornelius - Point. hard to describe where it falls musically, this guy is a genre to himself in some ways. full album here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3vmWy4XI1k

Multi-talented Michael Zucker is currently around here but hasn't posted links to his last ones here...This music digs deeper than most projects I've listened to in similar veins: http://michaelzucker.bandcamp.com/album/anteros http://saturnreturnband.bandcamp.com/album/electronica-mystica

Besides from things posted in the pipe organ thread :
From MPXXIV – jazz/classic/prog-related band : "Maquillage" series, one of the tracks is synth guitar lead (similar to Roland GR 300) ressembles to 80's Crimson (Neurotica / Dig me) Other similar tracks : Edited by jayem - July 03 2015 at 10:42 |
