For some reason or another, the Porcupine Tree thread got deleted by an admin. So I'll start it up again.
Progkidjoel reliably informs me that the Anesthetise special edition DVD will ship after the standard one! I hope the Burning Shed will sort out these issues next time theres a special release. They apparently didn't even have the red and grey editions in the warehouse when we placed the preorders a month ago.

Yeah, I think it's really unfair that we've been kept so in the dark about whether or not we'll be recieving it now or in 2 weeks; we were told we would receive the Sp. Ed. before the Standard edition shipped, so I don't think it's at all fair to keep all the fans who payed 45 pounds up front in the dark.

I'm really bummed about this. Normally, Burning Shed are quite good with their ordering service. I have received stuff from them within the week before. They've kinda dropped the ball with this one, big time.
Maybe I ought to buy the standard edition, watch it, and just give it to my brother after the special one ships.

I've already payed enough, I'm definitely not going to buy another copy to make up for their poor service
Still rather annoyed though. Just a tiny bit of communication would be fine, but none at all? Disappointing. |

^Yeah, I've bought loads of PT stuff lately. Can't really afford to buy another copy just for the sake of seeing it sooner rather than later.

especially now i'm starting to get nervous, as the normal edition already has hit the local record store, but the one i paid for like a moth ago hasn't even been shipped.

Someone please photoshop Steven Wilson's face on top of The Fonz as he goes over the ramp on his jet skis.

Hi,
I would imagine that the band is touring and busy doing other things for these folks to be able to keep things updated properly ... please give them a chance. I'm positive that it is nothing to be worried about.

No, but some online retailers have posted copies and the preorders from PT's homepage ship out in 4 days, so it's pretty much impossible for the Sp. Ed. to arrive before the standard edition at this rate. Someone from Burning Shed posted this on the Porcupine Tree forum: Hi All I'm sorry about the lack of communication on this but we've been as much in the dark as you! Here's the latest news: Blu-Ray discs are scheduled to arrive here middle of next week. The Special Editions then have to be assembled and shrinkwrapped. We will assemble/wrap the Red versions first and start shipping them while the Grey ones are being assembled/wrapped. 29th/30th/31st of May is a Bank Holiday (public holiday) weekend so we might not be able to start shipping them until the 1st of June (we will start sooner if we can) In the meantime we hope to start shipping the standard editions later this week/early next week (though we are also packing the new Pineapple Thief and Anathema albums at the same time). Thanks for your patience on the Special Editions - I appreciate it is frustrating. If it helps, I've seen one of the finished books and they do look great. Pete Which really sucks, since they did say late may. This Finnish store is already selling it: http://www.recordshopx.com/search/?f=music&q=porcupine+tree although I have no idea how fast their international shipping may be. |

Man this is a little dissapointing, think it's a little OTT to even consider buying the standard addition for the sake of a weeks wait though, it's not like the Special Editions have been lost at sea or something! I am glad I ordered the Red sleeve though. I reckon they'll be shipping them before the Bank Holiday weekend which would be perfect as I have already booked the Friday off work so I will have a long weekend to listen to everything PT! Can't wait for the IEM boxset too especially considering that I have never heard anything from this project. Oh by the way, glad the thread is back up and running. It's great hearing about other peoples PT/SW obsessions!!!

Hey Palliams, welcome to the site and thread!
Really hope they can get they can get all the Sp. Ed's shipped out before that long weekend, although it's good to finally have some news from them. Also excited for the IEM boxset, I'll have a lot of SW stuff to go through in June. Also, BS is now shipping the deluxe remaster of the long OOP no-man album 'Wild Opera'. That comes with a whole ton of B-sides, packaged in a 2CD digibook with new album art, and the 'Dry Cleaning Ray' EP as a bonus on the second disc. That's currently 11.99GBP + Shipping on no-man's BS page. I'll be ordering that one later tonight! |

Just from their online selection it looks like a fantastic store, the prices look great too. Might order something from them soonish, depending on my funds.

LOL. I relented. Went into JB Hi Fi the other day, and what should I see on the shelf? The standard edition of Anesthetize, already out? And only 25 smackers!
Without even thinking, I picked it up and bought it! I really am an impatient PT fanboy! So it looks like I have the standard, and grey editions! Watched it as soon as I got home that evening. Gotta tell you, its fabulous! The sound and picture quality is top notch, the setlist is great. The only shame really is that the standard DVD doesn't have any extra features, just the concert footage. The Signify songs all sound great live. Dark Matter is a particular highlight of the gig.

That is amazing. I did the same thing with Coheed's Neverender. I'm just glad they didn't put behind the scenes footage in the Sp. Ed., because I bought the reg edition.
I'm glad you got to see it and I can't wait until I do..in a few days hopefully.

^Bah!
I suspect the delay is due to the Blu Ray discs not being finished yet. Clearly the packaging and DVDs had been finalised. But still, how hard is it to stick the footage on a Blu Ray? I'm not an expert, but do they have to do a ton of technological jiggery pokery to transfer the footage to high-def?
