I was searching for some info about East and stumbled upon the contradiction that the biography names East a symphonic prog band while the band is categorized as neo-prog...

Tricky one to judge on one sample (Ablakok) - listening to that track in issolation - I would say Neo because of the 80s synth-pop feel of the sequencer rhythm used throughout the song, eventhough the obvious influences go back further than that it is still rooted in 80s mainstream music like the Thompson Twins (similar musical and vocal styles but without the drum sound). To me it sounds like what a lot of UK synth-pop would have (should have?) sounded like if Prog hadn't been such a dirty word in the music business at the time. However, I'd have to hear more to say whether they are more Symph than Neo.
On second listen it reminds me a little of the german band Spliff (Nina Hagan's ex backing band).
