I use this method, and will continue to, when appropriate.

Me too, can't stand people who do it.

Can we please alll curtail the use of adding the original 'question/statement/fact/opinion/blurb'
to our responses? We all remember the original opening remark and don't need the regurgitation.
It is just very annoying of a read to have all these sidebars and then someone come in with the 'cut & paste' of the original quote placed in their response.
Can we all please try to do less of this?

Sorry, I forgot the original opening remark.

I use it where appropriate.
I agree it can be quite annoying when people keep quoting really long posts with huge pictures and paragraphs of text in them. I would never dream of doing that...
Well, not often..

I never cut and paste - toooooo much effort >> I prefer the Quote button on the right hand upper side.
and no actually , it can be quite useful in a lenghty thread with the debate having completely highjicked on a side issue. While others are talking about the effects of Roman mythology on the Aborigen economy in the 23rd century on thread regarding Camel, it might be useful for someone wanting to re-address the subject or get back to the topic

I do not remember it to have ever made any sense right from the first post
Luckily someone DID use the quote button to know what it is about

Maybe it depends on what part of the US deafmoon hails from...I'm not aware of "wipe" being a particularly dirty term...Actually it's quite clean (as in "handy wipes")...Boy, typing this (and clicking the Quote button) wiped me out...
