Biography (Directly sent to me by Mário Lopes):

Drummer, composer and arranjer from Évora, Portugal, with upbringing in the philharmonic tradition and completed studies at the Conservatory "Conservatório Regional de Évora - Eborae Mvsica" and University of Évora. Mário developed is work with bands and artists such as Orquestra Jazz de Évora (Évora Jazz Orchestra), Monda, Cantadores do Alentejo, SevenDixie, Manuel Guerra and Luís Pucarinho.
He had the opportunity to work with artists such as Kepa Junkera, Chico César, Rui Veloso, Vitorino, Tim and José Cid. Mário teaches, since 2011, drumming at Musicentro from Colégio Salesiano de Évora.
Parallel to his work as a drummer and percussionist, Mário has worked as a conductor of wind based orchestras and as a composer for theatre and cinema.


The Album:



QUIMERA conveys a story about a group of animals which, after suffering at the hands of mankind, come together to form a superhuman entity called that will execute a reckoning over the human species.

Hopefully the relevant team will add the album to the database soon. It is one of the most interesting and eclectic albums of this year!
