Hi Fellow Proggers!
A long time prog fan here. I grew up listening to Tull, Pentangle, Caravan, Steeleye, Fairport, Jansch and Renbourn. Mostly Prog or Folk with an early music and classical infusion.

I'm a classically trained composer and guitarist and have just put the finishing touched on my first 9 song LP 'Five Acre Field'. Expect stereo guitars, highly melodic vocals, narrative lyrics, strings and mobile bass parts.
It is NOT released and may not be for some time. That said this IS a finished work all performances and string arrangements including vocals are by myself with Melbourne prog legend Chris Cameron on Drums.

If you like 70's Tull, Canturbury, Folk, early etc feel free to have a listen.
At this stage (as it is unreleased) I'd love to hear if you like it (or don't) or suggest any ideas as to what prog genre this is as I know prog fans have a much higher tendency to be muso's and critical one's at that.

and hit me with your impressions!

Nice. Great compositions. The production and recording quality really sounds pro.

FAF,

your soundcloud link doesn't work for me.

I just edited the link on the orig post just in case.

I've tested the link to the playlist and it works from my end.

Thanks and hopefully you get on!

OK, link worked fine and the music I heard could fit a spot in ,our PF genre Clap

Maybe you can malke sure it (link) remains open for a couple of weeks for giving my prog Folk partner Kenneth the time to investigate whether your music is fit for ProgArchives - should that be a goal of yours.

Do you have any commercialised released albums already?

Hi Sean,
Thanks for taking the time to listen!
At this stage while i do all the preliminary pre release stuff the link will remain.
Hopefully Kenneth gets a chance to peruse what I've done.

The band did an EP years ago to a bit of international interest and radioplay but that's all.
This record is infinitely better IMO.

I'd be happy an honored if the record gets in the archive for sure.

It just needs to be released and accepted by the powers that be.

absolutely a yes, lovely music as well...it's got crossover elements but I think folk is the right fit.

I think to add an album it kind of has to be available somehow for purchase. doesn't it Hugues?

Matthew, the EP would have to be included as well, so perhaps you can direct us to it and/or provide information.  We will also need a photo and somewhere to find the credits for the albums, and a website...if none I guess we could use soundcloud.

Thanks!

Ken

Great to hear!
I'm in the process of having the cover art, photos, website done etc
I'd need to scratch up the EP from somewhere. I don't think it is online any longer.
Hopefully it's not an aboslute prequisite.

Will let you know when the release is imminent and the above has been done.

Hi Matt
The material doesn't have to be currently available to be included, so any info you have on the EP (including the cover) will be used to create an entry for it.

Five Acre Field has been added, so far only the EP.  Matt, if you are there, please provide us an update on the status of the new release!
