Thanks Yam Yam, BTF is my main source for Italian Prog and I think I easliy finance one of their guys by my shopping tours there. Took a risk on the Album and ordered it blindly. |

RPI is on a huge roll these days. Old and new bands releasing good albums one after another.
You guys should give some love to RPI over here: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=98486 Edited by Altairius - June 08 2014 at 18:18 |

Sagi, I just reviewed that Gleemen comeback album for you, gave it three and a half stars (but because of lack of the half stars, I rounded it up instead of down).
It's a very nice album, very respectable, but be aware - Fossati only appears on about three tracks. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it, but it's a very fine listen all the same! ![]() |

A review only for me?!
![]() I see it was easy for you to make up your mind about the album since you did it so fast. A very good review like always my friend, I'll order it sometime soon for sure. |

You inspired me, my friend!
![]() I put the CD in the car this morning, and had it playing on my Ipod all day at work, so I probably got through it about 9 times today! ![]() Inspiration hit, so I figured just launch into it and get something written down for it ![]() |

Guys, I'm looking for some suggestions please, I'm after a few names of Italian albums/bands that have very short running times! Pierre, I know there's one you used to like that barely runs over twenty minutes if I recall? Just can't remember the name! Help!

Le Orme's classics generally don't run over 30mns.
Fetus and L'Era del Cinghiale Bianco by Battiato have very short running times. Then Formula 3's La Grande Casa . |

Thank you, guys! Todd, you nailed it, Le Mani was the one I was thinking off, or rather trying to think of!
Sagi, you won't believe it - just as you've posted your contribution, I had been listening to the Festa Mobile album for 15 minutes as I read this! ![]() |

Not familiar with Le Mani. Thanks to Jim's post a few pages back on Stefano Testa (new to me), I got Una Vita last night via Amazon. What a lovely album, makes me feel like I am frolicking down a gentle mountain side meadow in springtime with butterflies and wildflowers all around...anyway I digress, love the flute!

Hey Denizens, perhaps you know about this, but I just discovered it. Mellow has a Bandcamp, and they've put tons of their out of print catalog up for streaming and digital download. There are lots of great archival 70s live titles (iffy sound, but great for the historic value), 70s artists (Enzo Capuano, Pierpaolo Bibbo, Exploit, etc), 80s artists (Guercia, Abissi Infiniti, etc), 90s artists (Germinale, A Piedi Nudi, Doracor, Malibran, etc), 00s artists (Giardini di Autunno, Taproban, etc), as well as current releases and tons of compilations. There's soooo much to check out!
Edit: Here's one from 2003 that is really nice that no one knows about: Ancestry

Todd, you know I'm a purist that likes my proper LP's and CD's (Greg Walker can only confirm this!
![]() OH, but if only they just started re-releasing all their titles on proper CD! |

^ Todd this is fantastic and not only for the Italian albums, some cool live albums too but as you said the sound quality is not so good.

^^ Michael, I'm with you. I prefer the physical product. But when they've been OOP for so long, they can be very expensive! For example La Compagnia Digitale is currently on eBay for $100! Yeah, it's okay, but it's not that good. I like to listen to these and then go out and pay the big bucks for the great ones!
^ Sagi, I know the sound on those archival albums really stinks. But live recordings of some of these bands are so rare and of great historical value, that I love to listen to them anyway. Latte e Miele is pretty good as I recall, and the early versions of Zarathustra are very cool to hear.

I'm with you for the live versions, Todd. Really interesting. Concerning La Compagnia digitale I keep my CDR. The sound is terrific !
BTW, if you don't know it, check out the Jorge palma's album, I've posted page 294. Really good stuff ;; and so italian !
