This one has to go due to overt homophobic attacks on other reviewers or detractors.  It's their first review and they just joined today

^ ChatGPT agrees...

This review has a few layers worth unpacking. While it provides some potentially useful opinions about the music, the language and tone detract significantly from its credibility and impact. Here's a breakdown:

Positives:

  1. Passion for the Music: The reviewer is clearly enthusiastic about the album and offers specific praise for songs like Magic Power, Allied Forces, Fight the Good Fight, and Ordinary Man. They also provide some perspective by comparing it to other bands and albums.
  2. Useful Insights: The mention of certain songs being straightforward rock (Fool For Your Love, Hot Time, Say Goodbye) and perhaps skippable is helpful to potential listeners.
  3. Comparisons: The reviewer contrasts this album with works by other bands, which might help readers contextualize the music.

Negatives:

  1. Offensive Language: The use of slurs and derogatory terms like "fa****s" and "sissy bitch clowns" is not only offensive but completely inappropriate. It alienates readers and undermines the review's credibility.
  2. Overly Aggressive Tone: While passion can be a good thing, the excessive hostility and name-calling directed at other reviewers and bands create a toxic atmosphere.
  3. Unnecessary Dismissiveness: The dismissal of entire bands (like Dream Theater or Big Big Train) without substantial reasoning comes across as petty and unconstructive.
  4. Hyperbolic Language: Words like "cowardly," "spineless," and "soft" are dramatic and unhelpful in a music review.

How to Improve:

  • Remove all offensive and aggressive language.
  • Focus more on the album's merits and shortcomings without insulting others.
  • Provide more specific examples or reasons when criticizing other bands or reviewers to make the critique more constructive.

Revised Example:

"If you're a fan of albums like Moving Pictures or Worlds Apart, this one might be worth adding to your collection. While songs like Fool For Your Love and Say Goodbye lean more toward straightforward rock, tracks such as Magic Power and Fight the Good Fight showcase varied structure, tempo, and memorable melodies. While opinions on what qualifies as 'prog' differ, this album has its place among its contemporaries."

This abominmation (known for spamming Large Language Model bot-generated reviews) is back. The reviews are seemingly fine but they're 100% composed of vague umbrella terms and blanket statements. It's just sad.

Here's one of their reviews run through Quillbot

BTW: this might be another clue that this account is a fraud is this.

It is incredibly suspicious that somebody who displays such textbook sophisticated upper class English would misspell their country of origin as BraSil. :P

That's actually the correct spelling of Brazil if you are from Brazil and speak Portuguese

Indeed. And that's my point. This user is very likely an uneducated monolingual Poruguese speaking faker, who uses AI to flood PA with the LLM bullѕhіt.

If only there was an option for the Progarchives user to hide reviews from selected specified accounts. :( I dunno. It sort of baffles me that this website wasn't prepared for the LLM/GPT bot invasion.

Brasil is a very common spelling . For most of my life I thought Beijing was Peking too. To call this reviewer ‘uneducated’ is a mistake. I looked over your example of A.I. influence, and I think you may be wrong.

I am just a little unsure about the most recent review of Mike Oldfield's 'Ommadawn', it comes up on top of the PA page as of now... It is very strange, let's put it this way. Confused

"I tuned out to talk to my wife for a few minutes then I remembered I was rating an album." is a quote from that same review.

I actually like that quote. They could have said it was boring or un-engaging or forgettable, but their quote says all of that in a more personable, relatable way. Granted, the rest of the review is shallow and lacks any real analysis (or even a description) of the music.

Yes, this and the recent Wobbler review. This reviewer tends to put out superficial, banal, sophomoric reviews. There seems to be an obvious attempt to be purposefully contrarian. There have been other reviewers like that in the recent past, and for me, they joined my list of drive by posters which I ignore.

Rather puerile review - calling anyone who dislikes the album totally stupid and advising them to go off and die. The poster may well think he’s being humourous but it’s just rather pathetic in my opinion.

5 Stars

My goal here is to get to as few words as possible (100 minimum) required per site - hopefully to basically not give a review but issue a truth : if you think you know music and prog, and perhaps you even have some credit and stars on your reviewer resume, I would say this: anyone ( and I could not care less the ilk) who doesn't recognize Aqualung as sublime - lightning in a bottle of its time, for it's time, and ultimately for ALL TIME is literally stupid. (if you can play a musical instrument you know this already.) I mean that. This album has everything, on every level. It's 5 stars as is Close to the Edge, as is Selling England et al. If for some reason you don't get it, listen again. If you still can't feel it, do us all a favor and kill yourself now. Thank you. Oh, the album ? It's hard rock mixed with flute, cynicism, political commentary, guitar licks, groove, and wisdom with a folky English twist. It's perfect.

Removing the review.

That quote is the only redeemable part of that review which says exactly 0 about the music

I am starting to think that the Papa Pork account is more of a troll rather than a serious user who aims to create a review platform for himself. The reviews he uploads are only saying how bad the albums are and how the bands should quit, never really saying anything related to the music itself. Just wanted to raise some attention to this matter. It is in any case, an interesting (and entertaining) read... In some ways Ouch

Why do we have to be reduced to the condition of mindless haters? Invectives (like the T word) suddenly thrown from a page that is supposed to be safe in that sense, for readers and artists equally, diminish us all by taking respect away from here:
