...and worse if one is from Middlesex....which doesn't officially exist anymore having been gobbled up by Westminster (WI) , Wembley, Ealing et al..
i m just a number..."UB6"... not a free man..
according to Wiki -
"Despite the disappearance of the county, Middlesex is still used informally as an area name and was retained as a postal county; which is now an optional component of postal addresses.[11]" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middlesex Edited by mystic fred - June 30 2009 at 01:18 |

Ah! Burnham Market! It was my nearest town from Brancaster.......... like you say you can buy Quail's eggs, but not hen's, you can easily spend £200 on a handbag, but you can't get a bag of spuds. I deal for the single parent on a low income............splendid little place. You do still get some proper locals in the Hoste though (surprising but true) they refuse to budge just cos the Beckhams are coming to stay Anyway, Have you done the "Wells Gallon" yet? It's been a while, can you still do it now that the best pub in Wells (The Crown) has turned into a "Brasserie" (that was a sad day!) Ok, back to Shed-ness....................... MOLES I can't get shot of them, they refuse to budge, the lawn is now officially unsalvagable, it's utterly knackered with hills and tunnels (which collapse under your feet) I've tried every kind of "Mole-be-gone" and nothing works, they are down their laughing their little moley heads off. I really don't want to look at hurtful methods though.................. Jared is it still all tarmac around that YH? What about your garden? all the things you'd done? W x |

Seems like we have a bit of an underground TMV club going in The Shed - I'm quite fond of 'Frances The Mute' myself (I do have to be in an experimental frame of mind, though...) |

I think somebody might be mixing up their sports...
Leicestershire County Cricket Club have been on the gradual slide to oblivion over the past decade, and now finish bottom of the County Championship almost every season. As soon as we get a half decent youngster, they high tail it to Essex, and (already) modest gates at Grace Road have been declining... the future looks bleak..
anyway, I would just point out that Jim has banned any talk about f***ball in the Shed..
(although I was hoping to get away with a very small cricket reference...)

Football's a game for overpaid, under-educated oiks, whereas cricket is a game for gentlemen/gentlewomen, long sunny afternoons, the sound of skylarks mixing with leather on willow, radio four commentary, scones & beer - perfect Shed material, Jared m'boy |

^ Only a Brit would invent a game that required having 5 days without rain. |

You really think 5 days is an option with the Aussies coming out to play?
They'll beat us in 3 days for each match, unless we get rain. |

I love Radio 4, and I can certainly enjoy a Sunday afternoon in front of the cricket, but I have to say that for me, Test Match Cricket Commentary on R4 is a step too far...

actually, they're not as strong as they were...
(although I think we're still as inconsistent as we were, so you may have a point... shall we say 4 days??..)

Yes but we couldn't even put the wind up the Windies, so the Aussies will be much tougher.
