Amos Goldberg (professor of Genocide Studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem): Yes, it's genocide. It's so difficult and painful to admit it, but we can no longer avoid this conclusion.

Great listen overall! My personal standouts are Vanishing Twin, Ruders and Maria João, but most were really good. (You would almost think that non-prog is more interesting than prog nowadays...)

Love those myself. I like variety. I used to rather think of Prog as music without borders, but it feels all too limited to me now. It's often so generic, and of course that which we most readily accept in as Prog is going to be that which most conforms to certain expectations. A huge amount of my favourite music I consider to be Prog related. By the way, here is the Vanishing Twin track off the same album that would most likely be heard on the radio (CBC Radio here plays such quirky pop stuff). The band has obvious retro qualities, and I would liked to bands like Stereolab, Broadcast and Pram. Edited by Logan - October 16 2021 at 08:52 |

I was re-listening to one of Green Linnet Records compilations (Green Linnet, a once great independent purveyor of Gaelic music). I am always struck by the sad splendor of Déanta's "Culloden Harvest". I've probably posted this before, but what the hell....

This whole things make a for a great, eclectic playlist. I will listen to all, but I was listening to them at sort of random earlier this morning, and hearing that Greg Foat and the Liquid Liquid one in succession was wonderful, and then now listening to that requiem.
This I mentioned in an early Interactive Poll Lula Côrtes & Zé Ramalho - Trilha De Sumé Edited by Logan - October 16 2021 at 13:14 |
