Big debate tonight between Bill Nye the Science Guy and Ken Ham, a fervent believer.  http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2014/02/03/why-im-debating-the-science-guy-about-creationism/?hpt=hp_t2

Big stupid debate for Nye to have become a part of.

Maybe or maybe not.
When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.

What can they "debate" about anyway? "Oh I have science and hundreds of studies on my side". "Oh I have me and an old book on my side!" Wacko

Here we go with the America=The Whole World theory again.

33% of the population are crispy ones, of those:

33% are protesting ants (so that's 1/9th of the World Populations...) of which:

Of those Angle canes, Meths oddists and Non-demon nationals accept evil lution, so lets call that 66% believing in cretinationism. (so now we're down to 2/27th of the World Population or 7.4%)

So...

I was referring to the fact that most of the human population believes in a god. I seriously doubt that certain sects of Christianity will be debated and it will more likely fall into the "does/can God exist" question. So yes, I know what I said and stand by it.

They're debating evolution vs. creationism, not the existence of a supreme being in the sky. You stand by an empty space.
What?

Is that like a lapsed atheist? If the existence of a deity is unknowable then how could one possibly consign us to eternal damnation or grant eternal salvation if we are blissfully ignorant to such perdition/grace?
Is this a variation on that old chestnut 'ignorance of the law is no defense m'lud?' (pun intended)Wink

You underestimate them. They have a lot of money and make really well produced videos. They're eloquent speakers. They've done a very good job of dressing things up in a scientific garb. Of course what they actually purport is total gibberish, but debating them on the issue is no easy matter.
