Finally, someone shares my sentiments.
In the latest "MELLOWTRON" thread.

Seriously, drums, bass guitar or guitar are used more in prog, and aren't as obnoxious and irritatingly idolized as crappy mellotron is.

Football: run a few yards then stop
Tennis: constantly on your feet

Football > tennis physically? Confused

I love the mellotron and topics about it don't really bother me.

Yeah, that's exactly my point. It's entirely different when you get on the court and play too--you have to be able to have intense agility to catch every ball, be able to position yourself correctly in order to hit the shot with the right amount of speed, accuracy, and power, and not to mention you're even much more mentally alert the entire time. If you take your mind off the game for one second, it could cost you big time.

I'll never understand most people. Confused

Heh, it was more fun anyway, you could do what you wanted, when you wanted, rather than having to stick to "kick ball here, run there etc".

Yeah, that's completely understandable. I never understand the snobby attitude of many so-called "sports fans" about particular sports, even ones that more technically fit the mainstream like tennis.

I absolutely would laugh my ass off when a jock used to try to convince me that tennis was less physically intensive than football. It's truly ignorant.

The reasons I like tennis (particularly singles tennis):
1. You rely on yourself and only yourself. Team sports suck.
2. It takes amazing athleticism and is really fun to play (and even watch).
3. Racket sports are ALWAYS the best anyway.

jocks=pricks, dickweeds, whatever word comes to mind (the term isn't actually used in Australia, but yeah, they exist here tooOuch)
I suck at Tennis, and one of my friends is obsessed with it, and her fanboyism of the sport killed it for me completely.

And what do ya know? Assholes ruined skateboarding for me.
Elitist assholes that glare at you because you don't wear 150 dollar skate brand clothing.

I never try to let other people ruin something that I really enjoy for me. If I enjoy it, I'll enjoy it, despite what kind of other people choose to involve themselves with it and how they do.

I will agree that those elitist jock assholes are really annoying though. I know what you mean with skateboarding too, but I do respect a skateboarder who does it for the sport. Too many people out there (in ANY sport or activity really) do it for the wrong reasons.

It wasn't really my choice. If it was, I'd have pitted bands more strategically against each other.

After I narrowed down the bands I wanted to be in it, all of the entry matchups were created entirely by random, so I had no choice there. After that, they follow bracket format.

Some of them turned out pretty well though, and it can't be perfect. I'm satisfied with it so far.

Why are we debating football and tennis as the most physical sports? It's obvious that swimming is the most physical sport.Wink

Abstrakt Alex was right when he said stuff like Velvet Room 2 was better than "SR: HOLY sh*t APPRECIATION THREAD"

Haha, nah. LOL

I wouldn't have ended up having Magma and Henry Cow in this round and then the winner of that against Rush then, for one example.

I also wouldn't have put TMV, one of my favorite bands, against VDGG in the first round. LOL

Most of them worked out pretty well though, I'd say. GG v. Camel was a pleasant surprise.

Names emote, names bring associations to one's mind.
That's why.

O RLY?

I never got into skateboarding because my hand-eye coordination skills on something that moves like that are null and I didn't find the idea of breaking my back very fun. LOL
