Is there any remote chance of updating or possibly even using different forum software?

Web Wiz just came out with version 11 and we're on 9.69.

I'm just tired of the multitude of problems with the forum that are probably addressed in later software versions.  Just think the site could do better.

But if it's not going to happen, I won't waste time on the topic again.

It would be nice not to have problems every time we visited the forum.

MMA and JMA are both on version 10.16 so it seems weird to me that PA hasn't even been upgraded to that.

I got an error the first time I tried posting this.

If it's this that is causing all those ridiculous time-outs, error 500s and additionally logging members off in a jiffy, then it seems about the right time to upgrade.
You all know that I'm worthless, when it comes down to these sorts of things, but I'll point Max towards this thread and see what's whatSmile

Anything that gets rid of the New Posts Show Topics time bug is fine by me!

Anything that works with any hardware, software or technology designed, built or invented any time after 2010 would be fine by me.

Hi Pat

We've been trying to get a hold of Max, and I think Keishiro bumped into him over Facebook.
From what I've been able to gather, then this is not something that can be done in a jiffy, which means that he's waiting for a free weekend to be able to make the update. I'm sorry I can't be more informative, but that's all I got atm.
Here's hopingBig smile

I'm sure it's hard to find some free time in past year(s) or so..

*sigh*

David, really appreciate your efforts in alerting Max and trying to make something happen.  Cheers.  Beer

No probSmile

Btw am I the only one experiencing an altogether more loopy PA tonight? WTF is happening?!?!?!
I can't see who or how many members are logged in. It's as if I'm the only one here, although I can't see that eitherConfused

I noticed that too, the "new posts" function has been pretty much useless today.

This is really irritating. Hell just by looking at your profile now Matt, it's as if you aren't online. That part has magically disappeared.

Edit: I was looking forward to spending some time on PA tonight, but with the way things are, I'd rather not. Too much of a hassleOuch
I'm out.

My last visit ended up with me getting logged out, so now I've tried that as well.
But the most frustrating issue I have with the software today is the fact that I keep getting time out on my posts. Some taking less than a minute to type

Aaaaand it happened again

^ Ditto for me on the timeouts. Sometimes I get them 3 or 5 times in a row.

I also get many 'not authorized to post here' errors and that's not even in the collab zone.

Yeah - the place has a whole new look about it! One question though...Where has the section showing members actually on line gone? This disappeared while the old software was still being run some time yesterday (I guess M@X removed it in an effort to address some of the problems that were occurring), but it seems it hasn't been reinstated yet with the transfer to the new software. Ermm

M@X:  thank you very much!  Hopefully this upgrade will alleviate all the bugs we've encountered and make the forum experience so much better for all the users.

Yay, new software. Thanks!
It'll take a while to get used to, but hopefully it'll work better.  I've already acquired certain habits to circumvent the problems, I'll just have to unlearn those now.
