Hello everyone! I just joined the website hoping to find new recommendations. I got into prog with Arjen Lucassen's side project Star One and Ayreon. The next step was Space rock. Now I am looking into symphonic progressive rock, which I have already found bands I like. If you hadn't already noticed, I am a huge Sci-fi fan. I listen to many metal genres, space rock, progressive rock, and medieval folk (I love the bagpipes). I am having trouble looking for a specific style of prog. I really like Ayreon's mixture of Spacey keyboards, rock/metal, and folk elements, especially with their latest album, The Theory of Everything. The closest band that I have discovered so far that sounds like that is Solaris. Any recommendations that sound like Ayreon and Solaris's style would be most welcome. |
