I'm not digging it. I think your vocalist needs to change his singing style, cause he doesn't pull off the King Crimson thing very well. It just sounds like you guys are trying really hard to sound like the old guys.

It's not our vocalist trying to sound like someone, it's his natural singing voice - which I admit is unusual these days - not sure where you got King Crimson from, but he's been compared to Morrissey before, so I guess that is a step up...  He reminds me more of Justin Hayward most of the time.

As far as trying to 'sound like the old guys'  - we are some of the old guys ;)

Keyboard player was in an early incarnation of Marillion, and the rest of us are nearly as old..

We write what comes out, our strongest influences come from that period..

Sorry it's not your cup of tea, and you aren't 'digging it'...

Thanks for taking the time to comment though.

Cheers

After reading your interesting piece in Prog this month, I thought i'd give you a try.
I am impressed, and look forward to listening to your cd again for the 2nd time! As far as the voice goes, I did sense a bit of Greg Lake on the 2nd track, but personally I also hear a touch of Simon LeBon - who I think has a very distinct and interesting voice.
I really like your style, which seems to evolve throughout the album.
The CD version is ordered and I look forward to the next album, which according to the review is well on the way.
Discovering new stuff and owning those often hard to find early cds is a hobby of mine. It started with Porcupine Tree, and I have some rare early stuff I am proud of now.
Anyway - well done chaps. The future is bright.
