Hello, I was thinking what the first ever 20 minute (or so) prog epic was that was ever made. Albums that come to mind are:

The Nice - Ars Longa Vita Brevis (1968, 19m20)
Procol Harum - In Held 'Twas In I (1968, 17m31)

Any others? Also (a second question), what's the first album with multiple 20 minute songs. All I can think of is:

Soft Machine - Volume Two (1969)
Soft Machine - Third (1970)
Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick (1972)
Tangerine Dream - Zeit (1972)
and loads others from '73 (Tales From Topographic Oceans, Tubular Bells)

As always, thanks for any feedback Smile
