Sorry if the title was somewhat confusing, but what's your favourite 6th highest rated album on ProgArchives from the "Big 6" Prog Artists? As you can guess from my avatar, mine's Trespass.
As usual, thanks for any feedback

None of these ranks high among the albums of these bands on my list, but Trespass is obviously my favourite here.

APP should tie with Topographic Oceans with me. Both are some of the finest rock ever. Floyd's debut is a fine album also. The others have highlights. Though in that regard I tend to think of In The Hot Seat as being... well, consistent.

Did you summon, Dave?!
I'm trying to work out why, to be honest! Is it because you knew I'd vote the early Floyd here? I listen to `Topographic' the most of these nowadays, but there's not denying the place `Piper' and that psych/acid period of the Floyd have in my heart.
I AM going to vote `Piper', even though I don't listen to it all that often anymore after overdosing on it so many years ago! But I can't explain how precious that album is to me, and simply one of the most distinctive, original and defining psychedelic albums ever. Nothing like it before, and very few that sound much like it since.

OK, cancel my last reply, Dave, I totally get what you meant now!
You see, even though I bought a Tull boxset a year or two back, I still struggle to enjoy them, so they barely get any spins. But I did transfer them all to my Ipod, and I just by chance had `A Passion Play' on and heard the bit at the start of the second half. I guess it's because I don't play it much that I barely get to that part, so I missed your referrence!
I must say, `APP' is the closest I've come to really enjoying a Jethro Tull album, as it seems to have the longest instrumental sections. You see, it's just my passionate dislike of Ian Anderson's smug delivery and wordy lyrics that kills them for me!

I went with Trespass but A Passion Play is very close. The instrumental part of Side B is simply one of the best moment ever recorded. Trespass is my second favourite Genesis album, the first being Foxtrot.

SABB for me. I regard it as a 4.5/5. Fracture is THE best instrumental they ever did, IMO, and they set the bar ridiculously high with those. I love their improvs, too.

Trespass is probably Genesis 2nd best album
------------- All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.
