Subject: Need help with guitars I have

My brother left a bunch of stuff at my house before he moved. When he came to get it, he said he didn't want to take all his guitars and I could do whatever with them. Should I just pawn or sell them on craigslist and are they worth anything? I know nothing about any of this and figured I would see if any of you could provide any insight before I start combing the net. Here are all the details I could get off of them.
1) Ibanez GIO bass GSR200. No case 2) Dean electric guitar. There are literally no other markings other than the serial number. Soft body case. 3) Gibson Les Paul Epiphone electric. Hard body case. 4) Gibson Epiphone acoustic plug-in model AJ15ENA. Hard body case. 5) My wife has an old acoustic Takemine & Co. F307 as well. Hard body case 6) Hercules tripod stand.
Any help would be appreciated.

Mostly fairly inexpensive guitars, except maybe the Dean but we don't know anything about it. Could you post a picture?
Also those Hercules stands are the best

This one could be a keeper depending on the model. If it's a Les Paul Custom (black or white with gold hardware and rectangle, not trapezoid neck inlays) they're very nice and considered by many to be nearly as high quality as their Gibson namesakes. I play an Epi LP Custom - though I did swap out the stock PU's for super hi output Gibson PU's. If it's just about any other model of Epi LP, it's not really too special and would be a good candidate for a craigslist sale.

Ah, thanks for the reminder. I've got one of those sitting around useless because one of the pickups stopped working, I really should go get it fixed because I miss that guitar a lot. A black beauty with a sweet sound.

While I can't be of any help I am really curious as to why your brother would collect so many instruments and then just abandon them?

Ya, the Epi LPCustoms play like butter and are beautifully crafted. About the only serious difference to the Gibson is the PU's. I replaced the EPI PU's with the highest output passive PU Gibson makes, the "Dirty Fingers" in the bridge position, and I think I used a Gibson 490T for the neck. Also swapped out the tuning pegs for locking Schallers. Threw about $400 in upgrades; but, considering the Epi cost me $600 and the Gibson version is $3000+, I still made a killing

I don't know, ask my dad that. I would kill for his 70's Jazzmaster, Hagstrom and Silvertone guitars.
Actually I'm pretty sure he had to sell everything to pay for university

I used to have a different model Ibanez bass, very nice guitar. This particular one seems to be quite a budget one, it's about $250 on Amazon. Sounds like it would suit a beginner.

Thanks for the input, guys. Trying to get some pictures up but haven't had the chance.
As to why he would abandon them. He never was in a band or anything. I really wasn't around much when he was trying to learn to play (we are 15 years apart in age) and nothing really came of it. He took some lessons and learned a few things but I don't think he was ever looking at it more than a hobby.
If you ask me, he figured out at a young age that chicks dig musicians. Play them a song and look into their eyes and all reason flies out the window as the panties get moist. Now he is 33 and left a good job to go back to school to get an MBA. He got the girl, got married and has his second kid on the way. Once you get the girl, what's the point? Rock and Roll stardom seems to be a pipe dream at this point. So yeah, I am thinking that these guitars are probably not anything special.

Gibson Les Paul Epiphone electric guitars I've often used for a second guitar on stage in case I break a string on my favorite guitar and need to switch quickly. They come in as very handy and dependable for about 6 months until they need minor repairs. You can install expensive pick ups and it's sometimes worth the distance to do that. On the northern east coast of the U.S. many chain stores have them priced anywhere between $250.00 and $400.00 on the wall , yet they wouldn't give you anymore than 50 bucks if you were interested in selling them one and many of the Epiphone Les Pauls that sell for $300.00 in their stores are used. If you post it on the internet between $250.00 and $300.00 you have a better chance of gaining the interest of a traveling guitarist who is looking into a second hand guitar for road work.
