Hi folks, just to introduce ourselves. We are - well, I am 90%, with 10% other contributors, a "new prog rock band".
I say "prog rock" - well, have a listen to Track 6 - 17.30 mins of Arabic scales, that's fairly prog/art rock, but there's tons of influences in there: space rock, ambient, etc. I suppose prog rock is as good a title as any.
We're mainly from Cheshire - I'm from Macclesfield, my brother, the lead guitarist, is from Stockport, and the keyboard player (on track 7) is from Finland. (Don't ask how that happened. Please. ;-) ) ) I'm in my late 40's and have been listening to progressive rock since I was very young.
I'm mainly a sax player, been playing for 38 years, but also play flute, keyboards, guitar, bass.... you name it. :-)
Although we try our level best to produce "professional" quality albums, we've made a conscious decision to give all - 100% - of our profits away to charity. Our first release - "Future Imperfect" is being donated to Changing Faces UK, a UK charity which supports people who are suffering from some kind of facial injury or deformity.
Anyway !!! Please feel very free to have a listen, and hope you like it. We'll be releasing a new single in November, followed by an EP and then a further album. We hope you enjoy our music.
All the best
Dave Francis

Just a thought. If anyone wants a free download of track 1 - which is a jam LOOSELY based on the classic Delia Derbyshire "Dr Who" theme, drop a mail to
That one's 3 tracks - 11 minutes - of "weirdo space rock".
Feel free to download them for $0, but any contribution goes to charity. ;-) Our next album is underway - working title - "The Meditation of the Blue Serpents" - and will be finished, er, when it's ready. ;-)
All the best
Dave

As a quick PS - the next album will be called "Zug", followed by another album called "Aurora", both of which are being worked on. "The meditation of the blue serpent", mentioned above, will be part of one of these, not sure which at the moment !!
There are tons of tracks on the Bandcamp profile and if you'd like one for free for your own use, drop me a mail. ;-)
Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave,
your brotherhood is swaying somewhere between psych, kraut and electronic ... ... approved for the psych subgrenre anyhow and it won't take long to have you here in the archives
I think it's more a case of "what kind of mood are we in today ? " Anyway, glad you liked it and hopefully we will be in the archives soon. Essentially, the music will be given away to anyone who connects up to the Facebook profile. "Look for "Brotherhood of the Machine", click like and all releases are $0 from there (we'll notify you.) I think anyone playing prog rock for money nowadays has to expect that they're doing it for art, not money. ;-)

PS at the moment, this track is available for free
10 minute EP. Just click on BUY NOW and enter 0 as the result you want to pay. The system will ask you for an e-mail address and then send the download there.
Don't worry, I *do* get mail addresses but I don't spam people to death. You may get one or two mails a year at the most and if you want no mails, no problems. All I ask is
No radio play without permission
Please remember, it's still copyright music.
Thanks all Dave ;-)

I'm sorry to hear that, Dave. I hope you'll still continue making and releasing your own music. I've been planning on reviewing your albums on PA, but I've been busy and haven't written any reviews in over a year. I'm planning on writing at least one review each month this year (how's that for a New Year resolution?!).
I have to say that you, Pierre Zalkazanov and Michael Daniels have been inspirations for me as independent musicians pursuing their love of music and that I hope to complete and release an electronic music album of my own one day (with no commercial aspirations whatsoever, of course).
Cheers and best to you, Robert

Thanks, Replayer. ;-)
No, no intention of releasing any more music as Brotherhood of the Machine, to be honest. The plan is more to make my own synthesizers and electronic instruments and jam with other local musicians, which I get a lot more pleasure out of. But thanks very much anyway, and hope you enjoyed the music !
